  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

no proof. i'm just pissing in the wind, but to use another saying; where there is smoke there is fire.

Why on earth would someone feel compelled to ring up and say that he [censored] on the bar if he did'nt? IMO He just got lucky that the CCTV didnt find him guilty, so he is presumed innocent.

Ever played "Chinese whispers"?

You could get that in one move from "I saw Beamer so [censored] he was leaning on the bar".

And you can never discount idiots wanting to exaggerate a crap story to make it worth listening to.

The simple facts of the matter are that Sylvia has brought unwanted attention on himself and the club. All of the facts aren't known, but leaving the scene of an accident like that is irresponsible. Not being professional on the eve of a training session to represent your country also shows someone that is not fully dedicated to be the best they can. Forgive me for wanting single minded senior players at the club that are hell bent on ending our premiership drought. Hawthorn players back in the 1980's gave up the grog during the off season in their attempt to be the best they could; and it was still only a semi professional era. And we have people on here making excuses for poor old Col.

Some players just get all the bad luck, eh Col ?

wow, just like Tom Scully wasnt telling lies?

Beamer would have [censored] on the bar for sure, none of the CCTV cameras would have got a good view thats all.

I don't know when that kid lied, or if he did.

But I can tell you that Beamer never [censored] on a bar.

Occasionally, SEN callers embellish the truth.

Hey detectives,

there is nothing we can do about it, the club will or will not make a decision, there's no point getting all high and mighty, and there's no point underselling it. It is what it is, nobody here will have the facts, and you'll just have to trust the club to do the right thing.

This isn't an episode of csi

Damn........bloody spoilsport!

Sylvia - serial offending chronic under-performer. I don't think selection in the Australian squad benefits him, it just goes to his head - he needs to understand what he's done.

Col gets labelled a serial offender by quite a few on here but I'd like to know what constitutes a serial offender. My understanding is he’s been on the list for 8 years during which time he has been charged with kicking his girlfriend (he actually kicked her handbag), falling asleep drunk in a nightclub, staying out late after a NAB Cup game and now leaving the scene of an accident where he was the passenger of the car involved.

Is there anymore or is that it?

He’s also been portrayed as under achiever, well maybe he’s not maybe he’s played as well as he could considering he’s had Daniher and Bailey as coach’s and suffered severe OP during the early part of his career. Oh! Did I mention that for four of the years he’s been at the club we’ve finished nearer to last then first including two spoons?

I think a lot of the angst towards Col is because we perceive him to be a better player than perhaps he is and we blame his failure to live up to our standards on his “serial offences”. It’s always good to have an excuse when someone lets you down.

Totally agree RobbieF. Col has done very little when put into the context of the greater human race. Sure he shouldn't have run from an accident scene, but ot may have been instinctive as it freaked him out. The sound of breaking glass and scrunching metal can do that. Maybe the power pole started to come down straight at them. WE WERE NOT THERE. This thread has become a feeding frenzy of opinion that i find rather disappointing. Get off his case, he was not charged with anything.

Highly ironic statement to end your post on - you have give Colin plenty of excuses - Daniher, Bailey, injury, the MFC's general crapness, he isn't as good as we think, etc

They're not excuses they're facts; what we expect of Col maybe something he is incapable of delivering; you understand that part don't you?

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
