Fremantle sack Mark Harvey

Alright - we have had all conspiracy theorists on the Scully situation - so whilst this is not a conspiracy theory ..I think it makes sense

Robbo just tweeted that the Dees didnt make an offer to Lyon - didnt get the chance. If that is to be believed...

MFC are one of the two things

1/ Incompetent ; or

2/ Already signed a coach of significance ( read grey haired madman currently still coaching but a damn fine coach)

I suggest that my theory will be proven one way or the other....

lol...starting to see the idea me thinks

There is so much deception, much of it complicit.

Copperfiied would be impressed !!

BOOM!! What I was alluding to earlier.

Why would we not make an offer to Lyon... that is just mental! I think we might have someone already!

I know it's all just speculation, but I want to believe we didn't approach (if that is the case) because there was no need- not because we're fools.

So who orchestrated the R.Lyon to Dees rumors via the print media?

If we are the first to sack our coach, and the last to sign our new one and it's a rookie, I'll spew up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll pass you the bucket.

That would be an epic fail by GL if it transpired.

Can only hope that MM is in the bag now.

Because Eddie believes it is totally immoral for a coach to walk out on a contract. Totally unethical to be poached by another club whilst still in the employ of another club.Remind me if Malthouse still had a year to run at the Eagles before the Pies got into his ear ?If Malthouse wants to coach elsewhere he will coach elsewhere.

2 years out of a 5 year contract Chins will absolutely demand he is warehoused by having a year out

The eagles don't factor in this the past doesn't necessarily predict the future.

All of his assistants extended their contracts with the filth.

If he wants to coach on he won't do it in 2012.

He has stated his family don't want him to more than anything this doesn't give me any faith.

amazing ROSS LYON to FREO.

seems like players had a hand in booting mark harvey.

with FD.

tail wagging the poodle..

and that ROSS LYON management has been hunting freo job for a number of weeks..

seems MELB. never had a chance..

ROBERT HARVEY NEW SAINTS "INTERIM" COACH !

what ever that means ?

no chance? Or did we try to play too many hands @ once ? I suspect he is not getting the Freo money we've been Touting.

Certainly a surprising night! Suggest we all calm down and keep our eyes on the ball. In the absence of experienced coaches, there are good assistant coaches out there seeking the chance to step up - MFC just has to be better at choosing which one.

Last time a merry-go-round happened like this Wallace went to the Tigers quite quickly, and many were critical of the Hawks for how long they took to make their decision, but that turned out to be a pretty good one don't you reckon?

Not necessarily either.

They might not have not a coach lined up at all and are still searching.

Dont know about that probably on an even keel!!

Well as far as we actually KNOW, he did not seek it, but had it offered. Lyon on the other hand did seek it, snaking another coach along the way might I add. I don't want the [censored] anymore, this to me paints him as nothing but a dog.

Wow, what a turn of events!Let me tell you, we could do a lot worse than Harvey for coach. I really rate him highly. He has a good mix of mongrel and teacher, and I have watched the Dockers closely, he was decimated by injuries and but for that, he would absolutely have been top 4 this year in my view.I think he has really built that list from bottom up in the right way, and had the game plan to take the Dockers all the way.Unless there is more to why they got rid of him (i.e. lost the players, he's got some other problems), I am definitely keen on him. Very keen.

I agree Choko. I said earlier about the game last year when Freo beat Geelong at Subi. Absolutely one of the best games of footy I've ever seen. If he could get our guys playing like that we would be dead set lethal withing 3 years. Remember they finished 14th in his first year, so he has to get a lot of credit for where they were/should be.

Or we didn't because the deal was already done, as they are reporting it all started weeks ago. If that is the case, I am worried again.

And another thing 7.5million over 5 years. HOLY [censored]! That is incredible.

Yes he had WYL, but I couldn't give a [censored] about that. What a [censored] of a man to go behind Harveys back like that. Far as I'm concerned this is something that just should not happen. If the club had approached him, that is vastly different. But they didn't, he approached them in full knowledge that Harvey had a contract, a good list who had been injured and a team in their window. He got jealous and wanted it. He coveted another mans wife. DOG of a man he is. Glad he's gone west and not to us.

not disputing that point, and i feel sorry for Harvey, but Lyon was never going to sign a 4 year deal with the saints.

Breaking Bad is amazing HC, truly amazing..Nearly finished season 2...The Girlfriend has just choked

Don't say a word about the outcome!!!!!

season 5 has been commissioned....

Sorry, can't help but to digress...

That second last episode of season 2 is the greatest episode of television I've ever watched. Fullstop.

As you say, WYL, the fifth and final season of sixteen eps has been commissioned by AMC. This means they'll properly finish their arcs, which that brilliant drama deserves.

As for Harvey...Jesus Christ, didn't see that coming at all.

Damo Barrett just said Dees could be looking at Scott Byrnes with Neil Craig as his wingman....thoughts?

Garry looked very comfortable with where Melbourne are at as far as finding a coach goes.

Makes me think that either Malthouse or the Burns/Craig combo is in the bag.

Would prefer Malthouse but Burns/Craig would be good also I reckon!

I'll be very interested to hear the Coaches Association response.

One coach basically shafting another in a very underhanded way.

Not that they can do anything about it, but will be interested nonetheless.

Yes it will be.

Never heard before of a management group sacking the client because he made his own deal.

How silly does Kelly look?

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
