Trengove ... that is. Picked up the votes in the last round to just pip Jack Watts.

I think he'll be a pretty popular winner too!

Will be interesting to see how closely it matches the Bluey results. However, I'm guessing Moloney may have done enough yesterday to secure the gong just pipping Jonesy on the post.

To look where Davey is you would think he played one game.

Molney Sylvia and Jones will prob be top 3 with Trengove and Martin close by. Trengove unlucky to miss those 3 games.

Prob shows a bit of Watts biased in those votes. Had a slow start and finished poorly but took massive leaps towards becoming a very good player. Another big preseason and will develop a bigger body.

I think Watts had a run of 6-10 games mid year where he was very good and others around him very poor. He tired over the last 4-5 weeks but that was to be expected, I'm still amazed how hard he works through a match and respect to him this was one area in 2010 that was letting him down.

Statts are always interesting!

Our captain finished 13th, equal with Bail who missed half the season!

Our Vice captain finished 24th!

Those results probally go a long way to explaining our pitiful year.

All Australian Mark Jamar also disappointing with 39 votes, one more than Green.

Missed a lot of footy the big rush. Thought his ruck work was very good in most games but didn't have much impact around the ground. Green played most games and was very disappointing.

He has a small excuse he was out injured for a few weeks.

Green does not have that luxury

It is indicative of an issue. Our senior squad should be hovering the top dozen for the impact they should be having.

Might have been injured...Hmmmm

The Russian was consistently just outside the six best, I reckon, hence the lack of votes.

The votes don't reflect how different an impact he and Green had throughout the season.

And congrats to Jack. Does he actually get an award for this? :)

Either of the Jacks for mine are worthy winners. Well done

Trengove is a true gun. Posie and purpose. ( C in '12)

Fair list, I'm happy with that overall.

Interesting and kind of reassuring to see Rivers up pretty high - he improved over the season, and I like that he bounced back reasonably well after a truly horrid day out on

Queen's Birthday. I also like that there's still plenty of love for him around here.

I know I don't understand the formula being used, but how does JT make up those points when he didn't poll a single BOG this week and didn't get a vote at all from many of the judges? Seems a little far-fetched to me.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
