Lack of Support for Tigers Clash

The tigers are actually the masters of bruise-free footy more than anyone.

Don't be fooled:

- 17th in contested possessions.

- 17th in tackles.

- 2nd in uncontested possessions.

- 2nd in handball receives.

They're amazing stats. I hadn't seen these, but I had seen that they're lowly ranked in clearances, I think we're ranked 5th or 7th overall in clearances.

Every good win we've had, we've lost badly the following match.

Beat Gold Coast by 90, lost the next match to WC by 54.

Beat Adelaide by 96, lost the next match to the Kangaroos by 41.

Beat Essendon by 33, lost the next match to Collingwood by 88.

Beat Fremantle by 89 ... why wouldn't you go for Richmond?

Cause West Coast, North Melbourne and Collingwood are all quite tough opponents.

Not a surprise or lack of "support". We need to break the pattern.

It could be something to do with the opposition we've played.

WCE > Gold Coast.

Kangaroos > Adelaide.

Collingwood > Essendon.

How surprising that we lost to the stronger team and beat the weaker teams!

"I am really surprised at the love for the tigers in this game. A closer look at their form line over the last month will show a terrible loss to Port, followed by a bye. They then went to Sydney and should have lost by 50 had the Swans have kicked straight. They then go to the Gabba, and blow the Lions out in the last 10 minutes of a game in which the Lions lost Clark for most of the game and Banfield late. Not a great month by my reckoning.

Yes we have been spanked twice in our last month, but they were to probably the 2 best teams in the comp at the moment, and we have been undermanned, or had players just getting back after long layoffs.

I am expecting a 5-7 goal win."

I think people have fallen in love with Martin, and not really analysed the Tigers form of late.

Demons are paying $6.25 to win 40+. Get on.

Last time I felt this confident was the Lions game last year when we won by 50 at the G.

This is amazing - definitely 100% true? Very nice fuel to argue with Richmond supporters. Thank you!

Yeah. I'm with you. Its because half the media barrack for them and the other half dare not say anything bad against them or they will get blacklisted and left in the cold.

Some newspapers write what the public want to hear. And at times are full of "club insider spin" based on the theory you will be first to the next "exclusive" ... makes me laugh.

confidence is a wonderful thing, and richmond have it.

i'm still not sure we do.

west coast and collingwood were very tough opponents, but fremantle were awful and essendon are clearly dropping off. north melbourne were nowhere when we took them on, and they dismantled us; worst of all, we gave up.

our form is so variable that i have no confidence in beating richmond.

which is damning, but that's another thing.

jamar is so important in this match, primarily as he brings a real physicality to our forward half.

looking forward to the game.

hope there's 60k+ there.

In all fairness when we played North we lost Garland and Bail to injury.

We didn't have Jamar, Scully, Trengove, McKenzie in the side.

...plus Newton played (he was ok that game), big difference this week having those players back.

Makes total sense to me. We have lacked endeavour in many cases this year. Toiges haven't under Hardwick. I'd be tipping them if I didn't know better. :D

Interestingly though, did you notice that most of the tipsters who went for the dees are at the BUSINESS end of their tipsters' ladder?

Interesting. :D Besides. If Cam Smith tips us, I'll tip us.

For the exact reason I stated, we are playing Richmond!!! At the 'G'!!! Not the reigning premiers Collingwood or West Coast in Perth. Finally after a win we have a team we should beat at the G. We didnt lose after the Brisbane win, we smashed the GC by 90. This patteren has been made by the draw as much as us not turning up, all those teams are either just better than us or we played at Etihad.

Great post, exactly what I was feeling just didn't come out properly.

we're definitely a better side now - on field, on paper, all over - but that doesn't excuse falling into a massive hole for no apparent reason. we should never have lost from the position that we were in at quarter time.

I think the players will be genuinely hard at the contest this week simply because they see this game as THE opportunity to break the up and down craziness. As has been said, there are extenuating reasons as to why we've been up and down (lack of personnel & opposition) but quite simply there is nothing we can fall back on, quite the opposite. I reckon the Russian's the wildcard in this, and will be the difference at the end of the day.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
