WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY

Yes I was told by Neeld that he will play a maximum of 16 games this year, being a combination of senior games with Casey, Oakleigh Chargers, U18 Champs and i think he said 2 games with Carey Grammar.

The MFC have organised a very strict schedule of trainning and games for him this year to develop him and to protect him against burn out.

A close friend of mine (whom is connected to the MFC) has told me Jack Viney will be given the number #31 jumper next year. Its fair to say Jack will wear it with alot more respect than that "other guy" :P

Don't give him that number. It's to be left vacant for at least a decade.

I am not going to run away from a number because some simpleton ran away from the club.

Give it to Viney or give it Tynan or give it to Comp pick number 2, but don't mothball it because of HWFUA.

I agree WYL. It has gone from a superstition to a Claustrophobia for me.

I'd like to see the club introducing a tradition whereby the number 31 guernsey every year is awarded to our first draft pick. That way it would be rotated annually and once again come to be an honour associated with our greatest player and not the last holder of the guernsey.

Sylvia shouldn't feel any pressure whatsoever. Twelve is HIS number and should/can finish his career with the same distinction Todd left his. I feel and hope Jack has same attitude towards numbers as Gary Ablett jr did.

Mothballs won't get rid of the skunks stench. But a ceremonial Burning may. Followed by a resurrecting of a fresh No 31, presented to the young Big 'V', Jack V.

I like the Idea For Todds son to get it. the skunk never had the heart to fill that jumper. I said Trengove was more like Barassi @ the Time. and is proving of the right stuff.

Let the young JV create his own number.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
