1 - Trengove can jump over a pack when required

2 - Ditto Bartram

3 - Goal Umpires are allowed to kick goals through that should have hit the post.....

Also want to mention Spencers grabs in the backline, nice solid effort from big Pencil.

1. Jetta's tackling is first rate

1 We can't play decent footy at Etihad Stadium

2 Essendon are treating the NAB Cup like a home and away finals series

3 Maric's ability to finish is nothing short of sublime.

Good point about Spencer...he took a few down back. Missed one though.

1 - Get annoyed when Moloney resorts to rugby trying to barge through and break tackles without disposing of it or he *coughs* it up.

2 - Lack of intensity.

3 - How much we missed Scully, Mckenzie & Frawley.

Good thread.

1. Maric might actually crack into the side.

2. I miss James Frawley.

3. Jordie McKenzie is extremely important to our side.

1. Rivers, Macdonald, Warnock and Bartram should never be in the same backline together

2. We need Scully, Gysberts, McKenzie fit and playing

3. Maric is currently our first choice small forward

And one more when need to find a way to get inside our attacking 50m arc over 55 times per match

1. I missed the game as i had to play tennis

2. We lost tennis by two games

3. We lost to Essendon...last night sucked.

1. You should re-schedule your tennis around our games.

2. You need to improve your unforced errors and stop coming into the net.

3. No sh!te sherlock.

1. The Bruce/McDonald departure is going to have a bigger effect than what I thought. We're still very, VERY raw.

2. Our forward line, is quickly starting to look like the most effective area. (Kudos to Maric. Already showing a lot of improvement and looks confident.)

3. It's only February...

1. Addam Maric is definitely our first pick small forward for 2011

2. We need 2 more backmen who can kick. Grimes can't do it all, Bartram is really improving but for Rivers, Warnock, McDonald I am screeming "Darren Gaspar" on the inside! We must presevere with Strauss even if it means learning through a couple of losses that we should have won.

3. I HATE Essendon. I agree about the comment above about bringing Matty Whelan back to run through Hird in the coaches box this time, and can someone please kidnap Matthew Lloyd next time we play the Dons and keep him away from the microphone.

1- james frawley is one of our most important players

2- matthew warnock is not in our best team

3- we missed abit of polish in our midfield,(tom scully)

4- thank god grand finals are not played at etihad (we would never win one)

Yes, yes, and stating the bloody obvious is wortwhile when most posters don't see it.

We all talk about the talent that is 21 and under then in the next breath talk about flags as early as next season and top 4 this season.

Geelong's superdrafts were 2000 and 2001 and they won a flag in 2007.

Ours were 2007, 2008 and 2009 and we want one in 2012.

1. It hurts like hell when we lose and I would like to think every single player - without naming anyone - feels the same way.

2. Doesn't matter who or where you are playing, you'll get stomped on if you go at three-quarter rat power.

3. Maric has lifted, which is fantastic for him and the side.

1. Even on a relatively bad day, Jurrah could still manage 3 goals and a specky (puts him easily in the 60+ zone for season proper, fitness permitting)

2. Bartram looks like building on the improvement he showed in the 2010 season

3. Maric is starting to show some very promising consistency

Also have to say that the chance to be a leader seems to sit well with Rivers who tried to lead by example (even if the others didn't follow).

1. Our midfield (Partic. Jones and Beemer) are our weakest link.

2. Our ability to make sound decisions coming out of defence is abysmal

3. Our delivery into the forward line is poor

4. Our tackling was woeful last night. They appeared to break tackles or get their ams free at will.

5. Warnock is an average stay at home gorilla defender. The running game has passed him.

sigh.....logic and common sense... a much undervalued commodity

1/ I learned that I had no idea when the second round would be when I booked to see Vika and Linda Bull at Wellers - hence I didnt go

2/ I learned the Vika Bull has the best set of pipes ever

3/ I learned that when you are sitting at table within a metre of Vika Bull singing you need to be very discreet when getting twitter updates on your phone of the score every 30 seconds as she gets rather shirty at my complete lack of concentration

3) There really aren't any clashes. Jumpers were fine

1. We are still desperate for a KPF, and solid back up ruck

2. Finals this year would be a bonus.......the team still has a lot to learn!

3. Scully MUST stay

You could have Wayne Carey as your CHF and it wouldn't of made a difference, if you can't supply your forward line no point having a gun KPF. We couldn't get the ball past half way last night.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
