Bring back Junior

With Bruce packing up his traccy dacks should the club hold up the olive branch to Junior?

I think so. We could do with the experience to keep the ship steady for another year while the boys develop.

Junior would be a great utility player and you know you will always get an inspirational effort

What say you?

If we took McDonald back, would that mean Bruce would also want to stay, since us asking Junior to leave was one of the reasons Cam got all sandy in his nether-regions?There's also the other JMacdonald whose toughness and leadership I rate pretty highly.

The reson why we didn't give Junior another was because we were trying to maximize our list with the two vets.

We now arenin the position where we have a vet spot open and I believe if they believe we lose leadership then bring back Junior.

I'm with DC.

Bring him back.

I think that if he wants back in & has maintained his fitness, then we offer him the spot.

Not sure how this works list-wise (would we need to re-draft him & would he stillbe available for the veterans' list?)

It may now be beyond the point of no return, however...

We don't offer him the captaincy.

I think it is important that this is passed on at this stage.

I reckon Jnr would not care less for the captaincy. He`d be more than happy to see a Brad Green fill his shoes. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. In his last game of footy, he gave C Judd an absolute bath for 3 quarters.

I loved Junior, gave it everything. However, even when fit, his rushed kicks to nowhere were as painful to watch as Bruce's limp handballs.

We need to see this as a time for GREAT change, kids these days, especially the high end kids such as we have, have poise and or lightening quick creative handballs. And now they'll develop even faster.

Bruce and Junior were the old school. Green remains, but he has greater skills than most in most areas.

No need to look back now.

This is the way we have to see it, for sure.

There is a place for him at the expense of a rookie spot.

The kids need some leadership, and he was playing well enough.

If Bailey says he doesn't think he is best 22 anymore then fine, if he thinks he can be then give him another.

No reason to turn back the clock. The future is all ahead of us ........ and it looks no less bright in the absence of C.Bruce.

Not only would we look amateur by doing so, but it doesn't make football sense to me for the reasons given above.

Never going to happen.

In retrospect he probably would have gotten a 1 year deal had the club known Bruce would quit, but it's probably mute point bc i doubt Bruce would have quit if the club had McDonald been given a new contract

Panic Stations!!!!

Bruce has left!

Honestly, bringing Junior back wouldn't be the right message that we want to give to our up and comers that we can't rely onthem to step up.

Reeks of desperation.

I don't think so.

My mind changes when the facts change.

The facts have most definitely changed...

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
