Irish Eyes already smiling ...on MFC

Surprise surprise! guess who top scored for the Aussie International Rules warm up game???

One Brad Green scored 22 of the 105 total score! given his soccer background in junior days is a natural. Reackin he will star!

Chip is also the back up goalie to inspector gadget from the bummers. So will be good for him too.

His only probelm is that although they have an irish heritage none of the previous potatoes (chip's dad or spud) have any idea where in Ireland the frawleys are from. Better not latch on to any of the local lasses just in case then!

The Irish should get serious and drop the Gaelic crap. I'll take interest in this when it becomes football, not a hybrid soccer/football mutation.

... and the Irish are probably saying 'The Australians should get serious and drop the Australian Rules crap. I'll take interest in this when it becomes Gaelic, not a hybid soccer/football mutation'. Mutation or nothing

Nothing it is then.

Please no injuries to any MFC player. I would hate a nasty injury to occur in such a frivolous waste of time like the Irish series. As much credibility as the Grand Final sprint.

Does it need to have any more credibility than that. I'm sure the players are happy to have an all expenses paid trip. Worthy reward for AA honours. Having fun is still allowed.

Would have rather gone to China with the rest of the boys. Far better experience.

You're right a torn ACL is nothing when its for a good (and fun) cause as this.

An injury would be gutting, but I think you underestimate the importance of this series for the players involved.

There is no other opportunity in AFL for the very best to go away with others of the same level to travel, bond, form friendships and represent your country.

It's a chance to represent your country which is rare in our sport and i think almost all players would be excited to do exactly that.

If you don't like it or enjoy it then don't watch it. There's also no point whining about potential injuries they can happen anytime; on the China trip, at training, even walking down the stairs. It comes with the game, so please give it a rest.

Frankly it's just a fun game to watch and play, plus it gives us all something to do in the off-season other than speculation about the draft etc.

just because u dont like it doesnt mean someone else cant.

u talk as if ur some superior being, its disgusting.

ur worried about injuries? they happen wether its gameday, training or preseason u walk on the field u risk injury.

josh gibson fell over in the shower and injured himself. maybe they should cut back on them too just in case?

Maybe they should ban "hide the soap" down at the Dorks shower rooms though

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

The Demons almost blew a six goal lead and ultimately hung on to win by three points over the North Melbourne Kangaroos at the MCG and have temporarily jumped back into the Top 8.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
