I wouldn't suggest it nowadays, but I went to the 1966 Collingwood V St.Kilda GF without a ticket

A mate and I scaled the fence/wall (IIRC between the old Northen stand and the old outer where it was lower) at about 3am

Hid in the toilets of the outer until the U19's game started

Had a great time, but was feeling pretty weary by the time the main event started

Oh yeah, I have one lying around.

...

Sorry, I just liked the idea of a 'spare' I'd be keen on giving to someone I don't know.

I think your nephew's best bet is to stump up for one of the corporate packages available.

good to see atleast 1 person has some advice not like the pigs above

Poor bugger not only is the nephew a collingwood supporter he is also from sa! Good luck in the hunt but there is buckleys of getting a ticket unless u cam afford a corporate one...

Still possible to sneak in, but no fence scaling involved. I snuck in last year.

good luck. it is 3 days before the GF and he wants a ticket ??? they don't grow on trees.

tell him to try ebay.

thanks for advice i see lots on there wanting to buy its a way for scalpers to get around i guess.

You've offered plenty of advice ! The above have offered ebay and corporate packages which is a darn sight more than you have offered.

Tez, all the best in the endeavours. I like DC's story, but I wouldn't recommend it :P:lol: . Re: e-bay, I had a look many on there are just requesting tickets and leaving their phone number. Haven't seen any for sale. So your mate has stiff competition. If he is willing to pay $1200+ the corporate package might well be the last resort. He should contact any of the AFL clubs. Money talks when it comes to a GF seat.

At least one? You've got to be kidding.

Two of the three posters before Benno had already given advice on how to get tickets!

I suggested a corporate package, and 'Grimes to Watts' suggested ebay:

Before you attack others you might want to actually read the posts you're commenting on.

Geelong are the only melb based club with corporate packages left i think, the MFC has sold out.

Ebay is an option however it is well top easy to print fake tickets.

Sneaking in sound the best option. Its sounds like fun, and would def be a story to tell the grand kids!!!!

To sneak in I would suggest:

1. Doing an MCG tour on Friday afternoon

2. Breaking away from the crowd

3. Hiding in a place like the toilets or even better - In the grand stands

4. stay low at all times, avoid leaving that spot, and wait until people start arriving (which will be early) before getting up and moving about.

That sounds so easy I may do it myself!!!!! ;)

You really think it's that easy..?

I don't think that's the way you'd do it.

Thanks JCB, but wasn't so gutsy in those days, Biggest risk was only getting a kick up the arze from a copper

Wasn't any terrorists in those days so security was pretty slack, no bomb squads or anything

Most difficult task was balancing on two beer cans for three hours so I could see the game in a packed standing room outer and ovoiding vomiting filth fans (and other best not mentioned activities). I liked the atmosphere in standing room in those days but I prefer my reserved seat these days.

Fair call, but if the Demons are ever in a GF and I couldnt get a ticket, the thought would cross my mind...!

Tell him to take a 100m run up and go bursting through where they hand out passouts and keep running, They won't leave there post to chase one person, I've seen it done. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
