Actually, I do find this quite concerning.

If the AFL is going to do this, they must force every club to develop a clash strip that can be worn when needed.

In this instance I'd accept Collingwood finished higher on the ladder.

But if they didn't? The claim that they don't in fact have a clash strip is no excuse.

I will say that I don't particularly care how much white is in the clash strip.

That point is irrelevant.

I'll laugh when they exchange jumpers. LoL...

I'd imagaine the Saints would be ropeable about this as their most famous GF winning photo is of Baldock accepting the premiership cup wearing a Collingwood jumper , something which has stuck in the throat of Saint fans since 1966.

Is anything written as a stated penalty. Someone has got to take the AFL on....."No pain No Gain" Will the saints have the Balls to do it?

Some of their supporters today i mentioned it to were almost crying because of it. Does the AFL care about anything??

just to weigh in.

there are some clashes with teams. roos/pies, us and the bombers, cats and roos/pies... there certainly are clashes.

however, not every team clashes with every other team. common sense needs to prevail.

im soccer, teams have 2 kits. the 2nd one is not nessecarily white! if both teams are blue, can the away team not wear yellow?

for example, we clash with port adelaide. fair enough.

why cant we wear a jumper that is mostly red?

dont change the jumper unless there is a bonefide clash.

allow teams to change their jumpers but to keep their original colours if possible - just change the designs, or the ratio of colours.

there is no need for all teams to have a "white" away jumper.

this year, the saints changing jumper is fair enough. they finished 3rd, pies 1st. however the afl have now set a precedent - and this must be followed in coming years - that the higher finishing team gets to wear their home jumper in the event of a clash, regardless of if the lower finishing team is collingwood and "dont have an alternative"

I have been involved in this subject on a number of occasions and try as I might I could not let this one go past.

First let me say I DO NOT WANT THE DEES TO PLAY IN A CLASH / AWAY STRIP!

It is beyond belief that St. Kilda is being force to wear a clash jumper on Saturday.

For the life of me I struggle to see a clash with this game, I think it was more of clash last friday but Geelong wore their normal jumper.

I know why individual teams ( MFC ) roll over on the clash jumper but surely it is time for a bit of unionism by the other 14 clubs.

Every team should contact the Saints and say play in your normal jumper and we will contribute to the fine.

Now that will not happen and the saints will play in the white clash jumper.

If they win the subject will be lost for all time.

I fear it is lost anyway so we need to finish on top!

Otherwise we will be playing in our clash strip

However I would like to have the problem in 2011!

Can somebody provide an example of a clash between two clubs where if the team colours were inversed (eg melbourne would have a navy yoke on a red jumper), there would still be a clash?

Maybe norf v pies, if pies were wearing their white strip, but in their black there is no clash.

I struggle to think of another example. Shouldn't all clubs then just inverse their traditional strips, rather than coming up with w@nky, insipid white designs?
