Does anyone know if Taylor Walker is out of contract at the end of the year?

Because if so I really think Melbourne should offer him a good contract for him to come to Melbourne. That would mean we have two key forwards for the next ten years!!!

Cant kick and is a show boat! No thanks!

Exactly.

No way...

Disagree. A good young KPF who is only going to get better. Regardless, he will perhaps require us to give up too much to get him to the dees anyway

Agree, but I think Jurrah will do what he can do better. I'd prefer a bit of a harder nut type forward.

You got one thing right, he's young. But... is he really a KPF??? Apart from Tippett (and even he's a ruckman/forward), do Adelaide have a real key forward??? Porplyzia perhaps?? Certainly not Walker!!!

Um... why would we need to give too much for the dud that is Walker??? Geez, we could easily trade a Clint Bartram for Taylor Walker I reckon. And that's not a blight on Clint, but he's certainly no "superstar" in the making nor a real absolute "required player" at Melbourne (just like Walker).

Sorry... wholeheartedly have to disagree - Walker isn't much chop at all right now.

Talented KPP don't grow on trees. And he is that. Remember that he is only 20 years old (a year older than Watts) and may have a lot of development left in him.

There are stories out of Adelaide that he is a bit of a hero. Also that he is not happy with Neil Craig.

I would hope that the club would try to speak to him and at least do due diligence. He has good hands, is a good size and contary to some beliefs has very good skills. If his head was right he would definitely be worth a long hard look.

I need to go and headbutt something now for allowing myself to be drawn into this.

Reckon we should go after Shaun McKernan.

Is being played CHF to accommodate Tippett at Adelaide. Really he's a natural FF goal kicker and I think he'd kick 50 in a year at full forward for us. Also with his size he'd take the heat of Jurrah.

If he's attitude is ok and he wants out of Adelaide I'd chase him hard.

Agree .

He ticks all the boxes - young , agile , good kick , strong , senior experience , not an on - baller ; what's not to like?

1. The fact that he would cost us an arm and a leg and hasn't proven enough to warrant a large price tag

2. Adelaide wont want to get rid of him, especially with all their retirements

3. He hasn't indicated that he wants to leave Adelaide

You can like him as much as you want, but he will be wearing an Adelaide jumper next year while you are doing so.

I'd like a big forward who can play That Cam Mooney type role. Powerful & robust with a bit of mongrel about their game.

I was about to suggest the same thing. I've always liked the look of the lad and I think there are worse options than trying to grab him on the cheap before he's had a chance to show himself at senior level. He hasn't played a game yet has he?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
