SEN has stated that he does not want to leave Melbourne (the city) given other aspects of his life.

And I reckon we are still a very young side that will always need guidance to train properly. And we are 18 months off being a "feared" side.

Really appreciate the clubs offer for a farewell but know I wouldn't feel right about turning my back on the scorps for week 1 of the finals

Good ethical decision. Explains why he was always considered a great clubman. Well done Brad.

miller has knocked back a farewell game to play vfl finals

He's bowing out with dignity. Good on him!

Great decision Brad. You are a true gentleman with a great set of ethics. Have a great game and lead Casey to victory. Enjoy the moment.

I hope a few of the Dees supporters are able to get out & support Casey before going to the "G".

I sure hope Millers team ethics have rubbed off on the playing group despite his limited appearances this season. What an amazing gesture of support for his teammates at Casey and fair enough too, as hard as it must have been I can see how he would feel that a token farewell game with the Dees would be less satisfying than playing in the finals with the guys he has played alongside with for most of the season. Respect.

Good luck to him. I always liked him but left his best too late for us. If he does get to the GC then best wishes. In his current form he still deserves a chance to play AFL.

QUESTION: If one of Miller or Bell go to GC, do we still have 1 player outstanding on our list that GC may "pinch" seeing (as we delisted both Bell and Miller)??

You cannot question this guy. Miller is a true clubman!

I hope he can find what he is looking for. If not I would be chuffed to cheer for this guy every week at Casey Next season.

Screw "Clubman" (whatever that means)! Brad Miller is a great guy and I reckon everyone who barracks for Melbourne would be disappointed that he wasn't quite good enough. Usually when you see a guy his age get de-listed, some (or most) supporters are glad to see the back of them, but not Frosty. Good luck Brad, and feel free to give us some of the best-looking Father Son Picks ever in around twenty years.

All class Brad Miller.....best of luck for the future.

Yes & no.

GC can actually take more than one player per club with their "free agency" type arrangement with the other club's permission. So if they wanted both Miller & Bell then we would obviously give our blessing and be compensated for both.

However, outside of taking either of these players through the "free agency" type arrangement they could wait to pick them up in the draft. I doubt they would want to waste draft picks when they needn't so if either or both of these players goes to GC, we will likely receive compensation.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
