The video clip is sensational - extremely well put together - comprehensive without being over the top or having 'ra ra' touch.

Quite brilliant.

It's now up to all of us to grasp that imagery and spread the message far and wide. We have more reason to be proud of our club than any others have.It just took an Irishman to bring it all together - and communicate it

Thanks Jim ... now you get well

Very very minor criticism not really worth mentioning, considering that this emblem sums up everything that we stand for in 150 years of history.

This is not our logo, which needs to be simple for advertising and corporate purposes.

This is 'the emblem of the team we love' that tells a story of 150 years

Spot on. The medium in which it is presented will determine whether or not it is too complex/busy.

For me this is goes back to all those things Schabby talks about in the whiteboard wednesdays. I hope this emblem, or at least the fundamental design of the emblem will still be around in another 152 years.

Great video! I think the emblem is a bit sh!t but am not too bothered by it. Glad to see the club getting itself organised and being run properly

The video that accompanies it is excellent. The emblem itself for me has way too much going on and for mine really says we couldn't quite decide what we are so we have included everything. The southern cross for me adds minimal value to our brand and I actually would have preferred us drop the trident as well as a sign of embracing our true past but also moving forward. You dont need a trident on the emblem to be called the Demons.

I love the work and thought put into the emblem by those within the club and for that am rapt with it.

There is a bit to be explained but that is due in part to the rich heritage as explained by Jim. For a club that created the rules, lost more guys at war than any other club, was born out of a football ground, there is a fair bit of a story to be told and needs to be included.

Great work by everyone at MFC.

I am loving what the club are doing in every single area right now and the fact they have been so inclusive towards the fans makes one feel so connected to this great club.

What I love most is the video that accompanies it.

The eternal flame, the way RDB explains that is amazing. So much passion.

The trident, like Bailey says, nobody knows what a Demon looks like, but we know they have a trident. He speaks with real passion and aggression at stages through his explanation and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

The football, well we all know what thats about.

The southern cross is again explained well by Davey. Its about the community, the coming together. It means alot to Australians.

Finally, the MFC. Our ties to the MCC, the MCG - our home. We grew from the greatest stadium in the world, and will forever be tied to it.

This is truly a great emblem, one that fills me, and I am sure every Demons supporter, player and associate with pride. What a great time to launch it. Bloody hell I would hate to be the Tigers this weekend. Give them Hell Dees!

I think you will find that what was trying to be achieved was an emblem similar to some of the European soccer teams, who have great histories and it is reflected in the emblem...to tell the story...google the emblems for Barcelona or Manchester United...

Too busy, trying to be too many things at once

You're welcome to express a view. I'm not sure why people would have a problem with what you've said.

I really like it. And I did the moment I saw it. When one starts analysing all that's in it I can understand some thinking that it's a bit busy. But I can only go off my initial reaction.

As another poster pointed out, an emblem is different to a logo. This emblem wraps up 150 years of history in a stylish and vibrant manner.

I wouldn't change a thing. B)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
