Jacko13 - I dont think he gets 2 if he loses. My understanding, from the info I heard from The Ox on SEN last night, was that it is basically a free hit. Its one or one.

He also got a discount for a five year good behaviour record. Unlike that ca'rnt Hille from the Scum who just keeps lining smaller blocks up. It's a mad mad world!!

you might be right there redleg, but I was under the impression that if you contest the charge you lose out on the bonus of accepting the lighter penalty for an early plea. you risk the full penalty (which was 2 weeks to be downgraded to 1 with a 25% reduction for 'good behaviour' and an early plea), if the tribunal rules against you. The tribunal may rule in your favour and downgrade the penalty and/or charge if we win. That may mean no suspension or 1 week. but it won't go up from the potential 2. confused?????? me too!

So if the appeal is thrown out, the early plea is taken away, which means 2 weeks.

If they accept the appeal though, they may choose whether to downgrade it to 1 week (but with less points) or no weeks.

Am I right?

His 5 year good record means no matter what outcome is reached tonight, he can only get 1week. Its a no risk exercise

Although he was found guilty of a front-on bump against Port Adelaide’s Tom Logan, by downgrading it from reckless to negligent, it means Moloney escaped with a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points.

Moloney is due to play his 100th game this weekend against his former team, Geelong.

Just put on HS website....

Great news! Though, its crap he was found guilty!

Absolute horse.

I can't figure that rule out. He didn't get him high, both players going for the ball.

Stiff Brent, very very stiff.

Brent get 1 week for going hard at the contest, causing unintentional high contact that he activately tried to prevent by turning his body while Jay Schulz gets off scott free for his off the ball punch to Garlands solar plexus!

An absolute blight on the game. The AFL have no idea and are ruining the game..

On Demonology they said BM got off. Hope they are right.

Read above.

He was found guilty (which is BS), but the charged was down graded. Has recieved a reprimand & 90 odd points.

But, he will play on Sat.

100th Game! Well Done BEAMER!

This was another reason to protest his innocence.

While i am very grateful that Beamer gets to play his 100th game on the weekend i am beyond confused after reading he was found GUILTY ?

We gotta have a better system that this especially from the initial screening of incidents thats the MRP are set up to do

Way to go, now play your absolute Best against the Best, Beamer-Do it on their Dung Heap & lets start to really wake up the Football community.

We may not win Saturday-but i sure hope the players are planning to.

Guys like Beamer have been around a long time. Winning is important to them. 100th game (w)? B)

He was found guilty of a lesser charge (not the initial charge), one that amounted to less than 100 points. So he still accrues 'penalty' points but does not get rubbed out.

Think of it like a suspended sentence.

Different activation points bring different sanctions for each type of offence. So Schultz's 5 results in a lesser penalty as striking is seen as a less dangerous offence than forceful front on contact. Which as a basic rule I believe is right, a tummy punch isn't going to cause as much damage as a hit into a head with potential to snap a neck.

The problem is Moloney's action was not forceful front on contact. The forceful contact was delivered straight down the side, he may have collected the front with a loose arm but it isn't the type of contact the AFL should be worried about. It shouldn't be a reportable action.

Best bit of that article At least proof read your work you flogs.

Thanks for that but now it doesn't matter.

its still an absolute disgrace that he gets more points for a bump when going for the ball than a guy who deliberately punches someone else.

Spot on!

But, just so pleased for Beamer that he gets to take on his old team in his 100th!

Go Beamer! Go Dees!!!

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
