Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Scully is going to be the superstar game turner that we have been needing for years (18 possesions in the 4th)! Will be the Rising star this week . But Nic Nat will win the rising star as the media are selling him so hard to the brain dead masses.

Nic Nat can have the Rising Star. Our last player to win it, some 6 years ago, is now being bandied around as trade bait. I'll wait for Scully to accept his premiership medal. The question i want answered is, are the Bulldogs overrated, or are we that good????? Either way, i hope we come out next week breathing fire and roast those f&^#@ng birds.

Guest Rojik of the Arctic

A Collingwood supporter I know said something like :"WFT? First year kids should be cramping up in the 4th Q of a game like that, not getting 19 possessions!"

Heh. I wonder what Sculls will be like with a bit more muscle and a real pre-season.

Loss to Collingwood by 1 point

Loss to Western Bulldogs by 4 points

and Dee-molished Brisbane by 50 points

All touted as premiership contenders, ill leave it up to you.

on the flip side losses to Kangas & Hawks, do not look good.

Imagine if he played for Geelong and could have a piece of those Ablett dinky handballs. Could rack up 60.

I was concerned about why we would take a guy with pick 1 without elite foot skills (not having a go at him but its true, where as Cooney, Hodge, Deledio, Murphy, Gibbs all elite kicks). Tonight I was reassured, because I'd already witnessed his amazing hands, his calmness under pressure, his head over the footy style, his speed, his gut running and all his attributes in bits and pieces, but tonight I saw the package come together. I loved what I saw.

18 touches in one quarter is that a record almost?

im sure it is for a first year player

Champion Data should look into that

Some I can name right now who had more touches in a quarter

Darren Milburn - 19

Luke Power - 18

Marcus Ashcroft - 19

That's it.

Wow, he's special this boy. I know he turned it over a couple of times by foot, but he's only played 7 games. Give him another twenty and he'll cut those out of his game (which in fairness were affected by the conditions). If he stays fit, he'll be the best player MFC have seen. Take nothing away from the other young guns Trenners and Grimes, our team is looking super. We just need to gain a little more experience and know how, to win games in these tight situations. We're coming, I can feel it. Go redlegs.

18 possesions in a final quarter is amazing! The most I ever remember seeing in a final quarter before then was from Wayne Campbell against us back in 2002.

He does turn it over a bit but as we've all said he's only 7 games into his career, this time next year it wont be happening half as much.

Agree he should be a lock for the rising star nomination this week, although the AFL do seem to love giving it to a player from a winning team from the week, but hopefully they can look past it this week.

And as for NicNat, while he does show flashes of brilliance, Scully show full matches of brilliance, Scully or Trengove should take it out this year fir mine.

What a terrible decision a whole new generation of young Melbourne fans now face. Do they go with the number 31 or the number 9 on their back? What will make this even worse will be the numbers 4 or 24, but to do that they'll have to give up their 16 or their 10...

/sigh We're beginning to see how hard it's going to be for the thousands of young kids who'll adopt our team as their religion, I guess the only option is to get their parents to buy at least 6 jumpers demon_cool.gif

I remember someone last year mentioned that if Scully was playing with the Dees, he would already be our best midfielder. If he isn't now, he is not far behind. It is nice to have some genuine speed around stoppages with Scully and Davey.

I couldn't agree more... Scully played an inspired game last night! He was so exciting to watch!

I can't help but ♥ him!

So glad my husband saved me from being a Collingwood supporter! :)

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
