Might just have seen the bad parts, but I wasn't impressed.

and just looked at photos, and the person I thought was Rhys Healey, I realised I have no clue who it is. Anyone know who the guy with a giant mop of blond hair is? might have been the AIS kid.

The blond haired kid was Luke from the AIS (not luke hodge or Luke ball . sorry). He's training with the Dees for a week. He's not a scholarship player or anything like that.

They started a lot of drills from that last line of defence - either a trainer kicking the ball out or having a player such as Frawley starting possession from defence. The emphasis in some of the drills was in manning up and stopping the ball from coming out of defence too quickly. Someone was shouting 'they should all be covered'. I was pleased they ran thru these drills without the presence of Davey. I thought we were too reliant on Davey's kicking skills in defence last year. Good to have some different options.

Thanks all for the updates.

From those photos, we finally look like a team of men, as opposed to a team of kindergarten children. Obviously a lot of the boys have been working hard on their bodies, which is great to see, and not an ounce of puppy fat on any of the new kids either.

In fact, someone has to help Tapscott find his neck. Dear god he's enormous!

The blonde young man may have been Luke Parker from the Dandenong Stingrays whose photo is attached.

In isolation all th eplayers look nice and fit, i dare say when they come up against opposition some will still lack size.

The last player to have muscle definition like Sylvia has was probably stephen Tingay 10 years ago.

Petterd has bulked up signigicantly, im hoping he can take his game up a gear this year.

I agree- whilst we say all players are under the microscope, I believe Ricky will certainly be so this year- it is nearly make or break year for him. After nearly dying, two and a half years ago now and three pre seasons since that Round 14 disaster in 2007.

I say, all the best Ricky.

Our last player who was that big was Jay Viney....

Thanks for the reports.. living up here on the GC does make it a tad hard to see training so your reports and pics are very appreciated. I see it was a bit cooler down there with jackets and tops under guernseys... I wish it was like that here but still very hot and humid.

Now from my observations of your reports, things are looking pretty good in Demon country. Sylvia and Moloney look enormous!! Incredible Hulks in fact and seems it has not been detrimental to their speed or efficiency so looking for big years from those guys and also from Jonesy.

I hear reports that JW is not going to be ready and people are getting antsy cos he is not showing superstardom at this early point. Jack is still a young and probably still growing boy. I remember last year at the GC function before the Saints game and Cale Morton got up and spoke. He said he was working so hard to gain muscle but his body hadnt stopped growing up and it was making it tough to show said muscle. This is probably happening to Jack as well. He was an underage kid last year when we took him at #1 and being #1 placed so many unfair expectations of him in his first year or two. He will be our next legendary f/fwd but for now he is learning how to be a normal size fish in a big pond rather than being the big fish in a small pond. Guess thats hard when you have the talent and the skills and have been the "star" to having to work really hard to get the same sort of results in the big league. I know he will be fine.

I have the same sort of confidence in Jack as I did in Col many years ago when he arrived. Admittedly I did start to stress about Col with a few off field dramas but to see him last year come into his own and really show us what he can do, well I know now that I was right to get excited about Colin Sylvia. I am having the same feelings about Jack. It will happen, he will be an elite player, I feel, but we have to let him get there in his own time.

Hope he doesn't take as long as Col!

But you're right about him being underage -- if you looked at Watts as being a first year draftee right now he looks a little advanced on where most other KPP prospects would be.

Extremely well stated Demondeb, agree totally with your summation of JW, found it very interesting re comments on growth with Morton. I would love to know what players have grown and by what amount and how many kgs they have put on. I have made a request to JenWatts @MFC but at this stage not forcoming.Maybe some pressure from others would be great.

Bloody work experience commentators It's GYSBERTS & TRENGOVE get it right !!!!!!!!!

Season hasn't even started and it's already [censored] me.

Don't let it [censored] you, I recall a young Eddie McGuire and Stephen Quartermaine on ten news stuffing up players names. I won't even mention Captain Blood Jack Dyer.

Some one on ology wrote that Bruce also done a hammy did anyone here see it?

He was still involved in the last couple of match simulations so must have happened very late if it did?

Only treatments I saw was Grimes after a head collision, and he was back after 10 minutes.

In recent forums you have complained about how the club don't reply to emails but how often are you contacting them? you have sent this request plus had the email about how some players injuries were progressing late last year (which you did share with the forum).

But if everyone of our members were emailing the club for information like 'your pressure from others' suggested they would be swamped with stupid requests.

I love the dees as much as everyone on here and love this forum and the information it provides, but I think the admin staff should be running the club rather than reply to requests from members like yourself.

Stupidest comment this week.

Ricky had a solid, if unspectacular year last year. Kicked a nice bag towards the end of the season. He's in like Flynn, and many respected footy heads on here and elsewhere have him in our most important ten players.

Make or Break year? If it's his make or break year, then there would be 20-30 guys on the list in worse shape.

I agree, his last half of the year was pretty good. The Gold Coast would love to have to him no matter what year he has. He is the most underrated player at the club, I wouldn't go as far to write that he is in our most important 10 players but I think he is definately in our best 18.

I think the question has been, in which position? He hasn't really made any position his own, and i think thats why people view him as vulnerable. He made a couple of handy hauls as a forward in 09, and im hoping he can move on a bit from that to a regularly performing forward (the role i think he'll play)

Absolutely spot on. Every second someone at the club spends responding to an email, that's a second they're not doing "real" work.

I think it's a good idea to stop and consider whether a question is really that important before bothering the club with it.

I reckon Petterd (out of contract at the end of the year) will be lining up for the Gold Coast next year. They can take 1 out of contract player from us and Petterd is a QLD boy. However I hope they take Miller off us.

While I dont think its a make or break year for Ricky,I have never seen any "respected footy heads" on here or elsewhere have him in our most important 10 players.

On the basis of where he is at presently if he is in our top 10 then we have issues on our list.

Despite the odd cameo, Ricky has yet to string one game together where he has really hurt the opposition let alone maintain the standard. A talented player who has yet to deliver at the top level.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
