Liam Jurrah – Where do you start? In the first half of the year, he played at Casey and then broke into the team mid-way during the season against Essendon. We all know how exciting he is, but he gives his teammates a lift as well. He is a real headache for the opposition, because who do you play on him? To play nine games and have 31 shots at goal in his first year will make him more determined. Jurrah will definitely get more attention from opposition sides next year.

Hopefully with a full pre season, he will have a greater tank to play out games.

He will be physically tested this year and it will be interesting how he copes and responds to it.

Otherwise its a fantastic story and he has some really good skills and the brain to use them. I hope he can switch on for a full game.

I will watch with interest. Could be become a real drawcard for MFC if his career development continues.

Has all the attributes and potential to not only be an icon for the club but for the game in the same way Jesaulenko transcended Carlton.

He will be a marked man but I think he has the smarts and where-withall to rise above it. With a full preseason and more games under his belt he will prove a handful.

It will be interesting to see how Liam's physical conditioning holds up after a full pre-season, this year he will be susceptible to more wear and tear, given he will have been in the system and faced the rigours of training for over 12 months.

Clubs will definitely start to niggle him more as we saw in a couple of games already this year to try and mentally put him off his game, it will be upto some of the other forwards around him to ensure he keeps his focus.

The possibilitys for this guy are endless and totally unknown. He could turn out to be an absolute superstar, to rival Adam Goodes in excitement and impact on games, or he could turn out to be another Adrian McAdam, lets hope its the former...

We havent had a player quite like Jurrah for a long time...not so much skill sets but persona. Davey can be mercurial but he doesnt quite have the Y and Z to go with any X ( if that makes sense..lol ) . Liam has something almost unquantifiable about him. People supporting other teams admire and are in awe of him. His presence will draw people in. This coming season will really define him as the wraps are off and other eams will want to nullify his influence .. good luck with that by the way :D He's somewhat chameleon-like and I fully expect him to be about as hard to stand on as a tennis ball.

As Rude Boy suggests we havent seen his best yet.. looking forward to i t:)

And with a good pre season and he maintains his match fitness he could be a very good footballer at this level. But he might not get there.

But after nine games, he shows alot of skill in some areas......but he is no star .....yet.

Biggest issue for him may be the crush of expectation from MFC supporters rather than the crush of an opposition defender.

I hope he makes it big, I really do. MFC needs it. Footy needs it. Players that play with instinctive skills need to nurtured and are part of what makes AFL enjoyable

But he has a number of on field and off field challenges to navigate before he is at stardom level.

Yeah look we just need Freak to chime in with "he's a crap player" and it's Coleman medals galore for young Jurrah.

On a serious note, 9 games a star does not make. He has all the right ingredients to become not only a star, but a truly unique player. He has to consistently put those elements together over a sustained period of time before we can call him a star though.

I look forward to watching him develop, and I hope like hell that the pressure of AFL doesn't ruin his ability to play his natural game. We try to mechanise players to follow intricate plans, but someone like Jurrah just needs to have the ball get to his general area so he can do what instinctively feels right to him. If 21 players are following a plan, Jurrah can afford not to.

Watch out for defenders cracking the shits at him as of next season.

Liam has the similiar X Factor that Allen Jakovich had.

The Good thing with Liam is his age-He's just starting, who knows what he will achieve in his career...will be exciting to watch it though.

I'll refer to him as a star. Anyone who has the unique ability to put on show what he has shown so far in such a short space of time (and limited game time mind you), that oozes confidence and demands attention, that ticks over the turnstiles - can be referred to as a star in my book.

Perhaps not a "superstar" as someone referred to Liam earlier in the thread.

I think it all depends upon how and why you classify someone as a star.
