No1 really stands out and looks to be the ideal choice. My pick would go with Green. Proved this year he has the leadership skills. ( well sometimes )

Green, then a paddock of glistening sunlight, then McLean, then Bruce

Brad Green is only one who appears capable of doing it next year in my opinion.

I also reckon Paul Johnson is putting his hand up to join the leadership group based on his recent performances. He has been fantastic and really seems to give a damn about the club on the field.

I know I am gonna get bagged for this.

Miller, if he can maintain consistent form till seasons end.

95 out of 100, me included, would have called you an absolute schmuck for that comment even last year

Now it's perfectly reasonable

I still think Green though

anyone object to beamer? he bleeds red and blue, would die for our club, and put him in partnership with brock and miller as a leadership group, they'd go on for years

I would be all over the Beamer idea, but the fact is you have to have a captain that is going to be out there and be amongst our best players with regularity to captain the side. BM's career has been completely ravaged and he hasn't had a good year since his second year at the Cats and his first with us. He may well become very handy but you just can't make him captain when he has only played 25 games in 3 years

Green definatly next year or 2.

Then Brock or maybe Miller (Still has to prove himself more so to be considered captain) to take over from Green.

My thoughts are Green, (only because he lifted his game to add courage), & definately Miller.

Leadership group of Green, Miller, McLean, Moloney, McDonald, Rivers.

Yeah, I reckon I'm driving the Miller-for-Captain bandwagon. He's consistent, passionate, charismatic and obviously well-liked around the club. Miller 4 Captain '09!!!

Green or Miller.

There's no other candidate for 2009.

Green deserves it. His acts of courage started to appear last year when very few others were giving any at all. He saved our first 2 wins against Adelaide and Collingwood with courageous Johnathon Brown like marks running head on into large packs! He has done it several times again this year even when we have been getting thumped. Miller is certainly stepping up this year with great leadership qualities. He`ll make a great VC and can take the reigns when Greeny closes in on retirement.

Green: C

McLean: VC

Grimes: VC (to be captain in 2011)

C - Green

VC - Miller

DVC - McLean

That's the way I see it too.

You know, I used to always answer this question with Brock McLean... but...

Of recent times Brad Green has really put his hand up and I think he could do the position justice until someone like Grimes/Morton/Jones are ready to take the reins.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
