Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

    Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

    Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

    We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

    However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

    The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

    Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

    We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

    WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

    Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?

I just finished watching the legends game. Any chance we can trade back in Aaron Davey and Adem Yze? They are still better kicks than almost everyone on our list.

Whats really sad is that Mark Neeld landed  a bigger fish in his first month on the job (Mitch Clark) than Roos did in 3 years.

And how'd that go for us?

Mitch Clark turned out to be a big flop and Roos did a much better job at getting the right people to the club.

Watched it last night. While others were spraying them and kicking floaters Davey was still drilling flat 40m passes. Its actually still disturbing that we still have blokes on how list that simply cannot do the basic right, yet Yze and Davey would still be in our top 5 elite kickers.

Seriously how good would Aaron Davey be right now off a half back right now..

Davey, Yze and Travis Johnstone were the 3 best kicks i have ever seen at the Dees. They made it sure a pure delite to watch.

afl.com.au article stating that we are looking at bringing in another developing ruckman.

Not sure what impact it has on the two Kings, in particular Max.

I think Tom Campbell from the Dogs would be a GREAT get. Probably isn't a #1 ruckman, but has a great pair of hands and can kick a few snags. Could split the ruck 30/70 with Gawn. Doesn't need to ecumulate high numbers but could just have 10 disposals and 1goal to go with 10 hit outs to have a sizeable impact.

I like to think we could emulate the Hawks' 2015 premiership forward setup-

Hogan = Roughead

Gunston = Watts

Schoenmakers = Weideman

Ceglar = Campbell

he could cost as little as a 3rd rounder

Not sure if you were looking for a response...my thoughts are that Max K seems unable to cement a spot at Casey so is in the Development League a lot.  Has been a rookie for a couple of years now so wonder if he will be kept on.  Mitch K has an ACL injury and is only 19 with no bulk on him so is a few years away from making the AFL side.  Which leaves us only with Spencer who is out of contract next year as an FA.  He was an FA this year and signed up for one year which I think was terrific of him knowing he would only get a game if Gawn was injured.

So I would put another ruckman very high on our list of priorities, preferably someone who is in their early to mid 20's that can also play forward.

I wonder if they'll be playing on each other this weekend. Dal Santo vs Thompson. Winner gets a demon contract. Jokes aside, it will be interesting to see how they both go

Clearly Goody really wants to get the leadership side of things right, i suspect sorting that will go a long way to the side becoming consistent, i thought Dal Santo played some pretty solid footy this year and he's a beautiful user of the ball

It's probably in our best interests that the Kangaroos beat Adelaide if it hastens Scott Thompsons decision. Would suck to have him linger due to Adelaide progressing deep into September before saying 'No' and Dal Santo unofficially takes up an offer from another club, as it's clearly in his best interest to have some security and not be 2nd in line behind Thompson waiting on his decision while another offer comes to him. We could miss out on both.

agree... Aaron Davey retired too early. Was another player pushed by Neeld (what a shocking coach he was. Set MFC back 3 years).

Unfortunately injuries had caught up with him, he was cooked as far as AFL level play is concerned. Mentally he was gone as well.

his retiring b&f speech was outstanding tho, when he talked about how excited he was to see davey on the half-back flank, davey on the wing, and davey on the half-forward flank in years to come.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

    Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

    TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

    The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

    It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

    There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
