I don't think Tippet would be expensive at all.  While contracted to the end of 2018, I think Sydney would pay some of his contract just to get him off the books and free up a bit of cash for Jones, reid, etc.

Don't think he's put a good season together since leaving Adelaide; him and Tex were tearing opposition teams apart in 2011-21, but he's been a shadow of that player since.

Is this some kind of joke....

I think so  ....

Only if we can give him a heart transplant. Hes soft as butter.

But we could do with a player of his type. ie. 200cm athletic forward/ruck

Vickery gets way more of the ball than Tippet does (Ty doesn't get a lot, which shows how little Tippet gets). Tippet went from being one of the leading forwards in the game at Adelaide, to one of the worst at Sydney.

I'd take Pedersen every day of the week over Tippet. At least Pedo plays with heart, intensity and has an influence on the game. Tippet has no influence on a game (neither good nor bad), that in itself is pretty damning.

This^^^

Cam Pedersen gives his heart and soul to the MFC weekly

The only thing Kurt Tippet has given the Swans is his Tax File Number

there are some zingers on this thread... :)

Ty the Hawk would seriously challenge on all of those criteria. Will call it a nil all draw.

Im not keen but never say never if Sydney are desperate to off load him to free up some cap space and for the right price for a year or two

If

A. Costs little in terms of trade

B. Sydney pay a good chink of his salary

C. I see him as a ruck who can play forward more so than the other way around so god forbid the same scenario with our stocks this season occured than he's good for that as well as taking a tall second up defender away from Jesse while Weids develops

I thought he went alright in Finals?

We might need someone of his kind but not him with the baggage and the high salary he commands. The $800k would be far better spent and even if Sydney paid some of his wage, they would have to throw in Zak Jones as a sweetener.

Tippet is a modern day Koschitzke.....

I don't know who this mob is on Facebook but they seem pretty confident.   :o

Also +1 on the bad Photoshop job.

Bunch of 15 year old kids so I wouldn't trust them. Plus I get the feeling that they're Melbourne supporters so are probably just stirring the pot.

They come up with some good memes though.

As a club we need to move beyond recruiting spuds!  Tippett is an overpaid spud.  We want consistent hard nuts with class coming to our club.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
