Thanks Adam Tomlinson there but for a cruel injury you could have been a Premiership hero. Good luck and wish you all the best in any future ventures.17 points

We have engineered 4 picks inside the top 12 in the past 2 years. For a club that has been at the pointy end of the ladder most of that times, that is a great result.17 points

I think the club needs more credit for the strong stance taken with Trac, Koz and Oliver. The Media were salivating at the prospects of us letting gun players walk and there was genuine rival interest. Richmond, Port, Westcoast, Bulldogs and Sydney all let good contracted players walk out of their clubs. All but Richmond allowed it to happen for almost no returns. We held firm and should be given some credit where it's due. Very solid trade period for the dees. Bring on 202512 points

Of the opinion we keep picks 5 & 9 and get the best kids we can with them, no downgrading please.9 points

All the best, Tommo. Always tried hard, and had some really good games. Occasionally unfairly blamed when in truth he was not alone. Bit of a sliding doors guy. He was there in 2021 when we were flying high, and did his ACL. Up to then he was playing really well, and may very well have become a premiership player - and perhaps not in this position. Obviously hard to imagine our premiership team any different to the one we fielded, but you never know. There would not have been cause to drop him if he continued playing well, and we were winning - which we were. Anyway, he copped a bad injury, probably given slightly misleading assurances regarding being a required player. I think he still has some good footy for a team in need of someone like him. Go well, Tommo! Thanks for your time in the red and blue.8 points

I'd personally keep pick 9 and draft a Tauru/Travaglia. I don't hate the idea of drafting Armstrong but he's a 3–4 year project player whereas there are plenty of options who look AFL ready now. Considering we've jettisoned our first pick of '25 off to the Bombers, I think we'll be looking at guys who'll make an impact pretty quickly.7 points

This year our tall forwards weren't the problem. It was our midfield. You have to actually get the ball to the forwards for them to have any impact. There were not many prospects during trade period this year. Lynch is so injury prone anyway. Maybe Wade Derkson would have been a good get, but he is a swingman.7 points

Tigers went all in on their rebuild. Didn’t have to trade players out as they were under contract. Got overs in both the Rioli and Bolton deals. Now have the strongest draft hand ever held by a non expansion team in a draft that’s rated the best in recent history. Pulled the trigger and got aggressive with their rebuild before Tassie team comes in. I think they have done well.7 points

Our biggest issue here is connection from defence/midfield into the forward line. We lack polish and speed with ball movement (partially in order to preserve defence first focus), in trying to change the game plan last year it really exposed our lack of polish by foot. We tried to address at draft by bringing in Windsor (& trade by bringing in Billings), but it takes a couple of periods to reshape your list to facilitate that change in ball movement (when you don’t have the personnel already) Clearly this was at play with our chase of Houston and will probably inform at least one of our selections at the draft. We could have had Carey in his prime up forward and he would have battled with our entries.6 points

The biggest issue is that we haven't replaced Jackson. Fullarton was supposed to be the guy, but so far hasn't shown enough at VFL level. If we can alleviate JVR of 2nd ruck duties, I'm more than happy with he, Petty, Turner and a developing Jefferson. We've used 2 1st round picks on key forwards in 2 of the last 3 drafts. We need to top up on quality mids. So unless a quality key forward fell to us via free agency, I wouldn't blow our draft capital on a key forward.6 points

That is interesting. Tigers got no one and lost 4 players including 3 of top 5 in B & F but got a lot of good draft picks. We lost one good player, picked up a younger replacement and a stop gap backup ruckman for nothing and added a top ten draft pick and Tigers are an A- and we are C+. Essendon get rid of their leading goal kicker of the last few years for pick 53 and get no one and get a C. Cats pick up best young player for 17 and lose no one and only get a B+. Anyway who cares?6 points

Sad to see him go, always liked Tommo but hope he can get more stable senior games elsewhere...just not Collingwood!5 points

His 8 games for us this year were very solid. I wish he was staying on but can understand he wants better opportunities. Someones going to pick up a very good key defender.5 points

Parker some reports are saying got a 3 year deal. He's slowing down as a midfielder and we have a medium forward in Fritsch. He can play as a defacto key forward but at 183cm he's not exactly a great aerial threat. Darling got a 2 year deal and has looked cooked for at least 2 years. The best possible option of that sort of player was Membrey but even he is undersized and limited. We have our version of that guy in Melksham. We've junked up our list with enough top up players the last few years - Hunter, Billings, Fullarton, McAdam etc. Any low cost addition had to be a guy with upside like Derksen rather than desperate attempts at guys with no improvement in them. Taking a step back and seeing what a forwards coach can do with the guys we have in the right option until we can find a proper solution.5 points

I find giving Collingwood an A- a bit of a stretch. As good as Houston is, they have traded their future for him and have a lack of depth under 23. They have taken a huge gamble, and while it might get them into finals next year, they will pay for it later. I'd much rather have access to this year's draft. Getting pick 9 was a great move. Given the fact that we scared off potential suitors, I think we did pretty well getting Sharp and Campbell in. I'd at least give us a B. The real winners were Fremantle and Gold Coast IMHO.5 points

For anyone wanting to give this some credibility and be disappointed last year they rated Collingwood giving up their first for Schultz and Ginnivan for next to nothing as a B. These periods are best judged in 1-2 years time. Looking at who went where and what our intent was mature low cost ruck, replace some run, add elite draftees it’s hard to argue we didnt meet expectations. I could see Sharp being the bargain buy of this years trade like Massimo last year.5 points

I am disappointed not getting Wade, not that I know anything about him, other than his age and height and 0 games so far, but rather for the simple fact that TL and JT wanted him and I trust their judgment. If they wanted him it it was for a reason. The fact that he is probably the lowest player on the totem pole of players seeking a trade and yet couldn't get traded is baffling, when you consider he hasn't played a game in his first 2 years as a mature age recruit and is now 11th in line for the role he plays. Someone used Jeffo as a comparison but he was a high draft pick and was taken at 18 and these players are given more time to develop. Can anyone here see him playing ahead of a fit Hogan, Cadman, Taylor, Buckley, Himmelberg, Riccardi, Gruzewski, Brown, Aleer, O'Keefe and now Stringer. He asked to be traded for more opportunity and a better contract, to look after his wife and 3 kids. GWS said no. We let a Premiership player who was 3rd in the B and F go home for compassionate reasons. We are not talking about Taylor or Cadman for example. I hope his Manager remembers this and if Wade doesn't get a game next year, hopefully he gives it to McCartney.5 points

It’s all gossip on the MFC. But the reality is that we kept our two guns. And another 12 months is a long time in football. In terms of results: ANB leaving was handled with respect and an adequate result. And Harry Sharp is a nice potential replacement. The real brilliance is the draft hand. Posters here were suggesting we could get multiple first round picks, I don’t think anyone thought 2 x top 10 was possible. For our list profile, 2 of the highest rated talents is the perfect outcome. I hope we don’t split p9 and I doubt we will. In this draft p5 is first tier and not a lot less valuable than p1. And p9 is somewhat a wildcard with so many talented kids in that range. I have very little love for Houston, overrated, glad we moved on. I have no idea what the MFC could’ve done better. A+4 points

I'm not sold on Jefferson and I'm not writing him off entirely either. Just thought it was funny given how picket ****cans certain players and then hitches his wagon to some other strange choices.4 points

Obviously you didn’t see many of the last 10/12 games of Jeffo in the VFL did you OD? Rather than simply judging him on his record and other judges ( which is complimentary, amazed, or still like you disillusioned and negative about his weight and competitiveness.) Most fans have at least mentioned his physique is much more developed, and his performance has improved immensely in intensity and tackling has been good. Consequently he has kicked 30 goals this season which is about the same as JVR in his 2022 (31 goals) results. The only way we will discover if he can bridge the gap is to give him opportunity when he earns it if a vacancy occurs. Input forward the suggestion that we look to play him on a HFFlank to be a mobile forward and marking addition to the forward line. My point is that Jeffo has IMO some very good forward line skills and shows the aptitude of a forward and this gives me the conviction that he may well be successful at a higher level. Let’s not get too negative about his weight or physique as not all forwards are muscle men ( Josh Kennedy for eg.) but wiry and still strong bodied. Fritta is not a strong or muscled up player but has enormous forward skills to compensate. Unfortunately many D/Landers think Fritta should be getting 8/10 tackles per game instead of 2/3 goals per game. I know which I am happy with for our team. Same as with Jeffo don’t try and compare his style say with JVR both are potentially good/ maybe in long term great forwards as is Disco also. We will gain an advantage with contrasting skills of all our players and it’s a team game after all.4 points

We have as many picks as we have spots on the list. eg we could have 88, 89, 90 if we had the list spots4 points

Scoop Manure still trying to push his own agenda alleging Oliver was 'desperate to get out'. This guy is just so desperate to get something right for once, that he'll make up is own story to suit his own narrative. Pathetic. I loved how Lamby shut him down. 👌4 points
