  1. This is a RUMOUR thread. The purpose of this thread is for rumours. I posted a rumour I heard, I will continue to post rumours I have heard in this thread dedicated to rumours. We are all Melbourne supporters here. If you don't like rumours and only facts, then don't post in this thread.

  2. Nice tweet from Andrew Walker: "My short term memory has never been a strength of mine, can't believe I dont remember having a falling out with mick!! #greatjournalism #" Further proof of how silly this time of the season can be...

  3. Could their value get any lower than it is right now? I'm not against trading them, but continually trading away players when their value is at its lowest just continues the cycle.

  4. I'm glad we got to see the best of Jamar. Had a big struggle for a long time with PJ for the second ruck spot behind Jeff White. He kicked on when he needed to and made the ruck spot his, which a lot of players don't. Just wish he could have maintained his best. Injuries can be cruel though. Great servant of the MFC. Thanks Mark.

  5. Wow there is some rubbish around in the media. I'm lucky enough to know Walker and firstly you wouldn't meet a better bloke and secondly he adores Mick as a coach and he is playing with ridiculous confidence right now. Now something that doesn't probaby belong on this thread (just to hard to search old ones on the phone) is our new "Josh Kennedy like" (not actually him but) midfielder we will have this year in one Jack Trengove. Roos will be playing him on ball all year and will he modelling his whole game on JPK. Told after the meeting with Roos the whole group walked out a foot taller after they were hanging on every word they said. All ridiculously excited to start as they will be playing a lot more attacking footy this year. Told from a mate (i know that sounds dodgey to) but he is pretty close with trenners and thinks he will be having a bumper year.

  6. Well i think we have one club who officially hates us Its been OverDEW 16 to go

  7. And i came on here hoping to read a bit more about Dylan Shiel. FMD

  8. Look - like he said - it's a rumour and that's what this is all about - if you're taking all that stuff too seriously you need to re-think.. You posted "Savage chooses Carlton" yesterday and later confirmed you got it from Facebook - hypocrite - that's twice you've done that - called people "flogs" for posting Facebook rumours and done exactly the same yourself. You're vying with hogans_heroes and demoneyes for Most Annoying this trade period.

  9. Would not be keen on seeing them leave. They both have something we need. Blease with his electric pace and Tappscott being as hard as nails. Both have had less than adequate coaching and development IMO and I believe they will flourish under Roos if given the opportunity.

  10. They aren't worth much I would prefer to keep both of them and see if Roos can get the best out of them.

  11. Well, the information would be the genesis of new threads and substantial conjecture and as I'm a Melbourne supporter it would be pretty easy to guess that I've either told someone or come on here, given it isn't mentioned here. Aside from that I promised not to mention the player's name. I merely mentioned the info as a counter to the info that it is either Shiel or pick 2. The club has other irons in the fire re pick 2. I don't think we will get there player anyway. Similar to Shiel, I don't think his club will let him go whilst contracted, even if he wants to move.

  12. Fascinating period. Watching the MFC manage the media, feeding out tidbits whilst plugging the internal leaks. It almost feels like a professional football club.

  13. Wouldn't hold my breath. Suspect that this is as much about letting him go without having to pay out his contract as anything. If anyone wants to take him off our hands, we're probably already in front.

  14. It's [censored] Xmas. Best trade period ever.

  15. Either your info is crap or Roos is a fruitcake.

  16. With George Stone officially finished at Sydney, he will join the Demons in coming weeks. The delay might be the Dew stuff, but a great addition to club for development!

  17. I remember the time you changed your avatar after being accused of 'waffling on'. Now that you're declaring yourself a [censored].....

  18. Greg Denham this morning also mentioned we were shopping around Rohan Bail along with these two. I don't think we'll have to hire extra staff to handle the influx of interested parties.

  19. What part of we NEED MIDS that will be at the club for the next 8 years, don't you understand my man?

  20. Standalone trade - not much value, but they could offer a genuine sweetener to a bigger deal with the right club who sees some value based on an assumption of poor development at MFC, more so than say Strauss, Jetta and Bail who have zero value.

  21. The alternative is keeping them, which is also continuing the cycle if they don't add value.

  22. Think some posters need to recall the respect board. Clark Kent has posted on a rumour board the rumours he's heard. If you don't like them, it's great because fair chance they won't be true but saying don't post them as you look like an idiot doesn't promote others to come forward with their rumours. We're all fighting the same battle here let's be a little more grateful, even if the resulting post isn't what you want to hear.

  23. What a crock. 2years ago when I said he should be traded while at the top of his worth I got very, very little support

  24. I have spoken to people with more clout than coterie members. I'm not saying we won't keep pick 2 and I'm not saying Dylan Shiel won't necessarily come to the Dees. But I know the club is looking at other avenues and has offered pick 2 directly for another player which hasn't been resolved yet and the player hasn't been mentioned in dispatches anywhere. Now Im not going to say who the player is because Im not going to betray the source of my information - and the likehlihood of his club letting him go is extremely remote, in any case - am merely saying that your contention of it being Shiel or the pick kept is 100% incorrect!

  26. I'll miss Craigy. He didn't bring us success, but I really liked him in the red and blue.

  27. Best result for both parties. Big fan of Jamar. He's been a loyal club man, and he's always an encouraging voice on the field. All the best.

  28. Not concerned in the slightest. There is still 2 weeks to go and it's not as if there have been that many trades up till now. Confident we will get some deals over the line, just need some patience.

  29. Connolly was a nice bloke with the right intentions that was just in way over his head. I did some work with the club during the Bailey years and found him to be helpful and accommodating. He's a genuine people person, I expect he'd have been great in a relationship management role, playing guide for sponsors and so on. Those potting him or making snide remarks either never met him or are just being silly keyboard warriors. Craig was a good resource who clearly knows his stuff and had a good relationship with the players. I think it was pretty clear though that he became redundant when Roos was appointed.

  30. I don't mean to sound rude but I think alot of people are overvaluing them. These two were among the worst on our list this year - why would any club want some of the worst players from the team with the worst list?

  31. I think it's more a case of free agents (or at least their managers) having no interest in us. Makes me sick to read of all these players looking to go to Carlton and not one mention of a player looking to come here. Brings back to the surface those feelings of anger, bordering on hatred, towards those who have put the club in this position.

  32. Not to worried with Tapscott going but thought Blease has potential to be a pretty good player with the right coaching. Has great pace and knows where the sticks are just needs to build a tank and learn to run deep both ways.

  34. Thanks to both of them. Chris served the Club well on and off over a very long period and is a Life Member. Neil did a fantastic job in difficult circumstances during his short tenure. All the best for the future to both. edit: delete repetition

  36. Lucas and Bootsma are terrible footballers. I wouldn't take them even if they were free.

  37. Good mates with Moloney and Sylvia. If he's traded, that's it - all of the players from that period are gone. Also pretty ironic if we effectively swap Jolly for Jamar, given that we traded Jolly to the Swans and kept Jamar in about 2003/4.

  39. My source told me we are interested in the following: Kane Lucas/ Josh Bootsma/ Brad Sheppard - One of those players will be traded for a 3rd pick. Bring on Sheppard, hes a gun. Alan Didak - Has spoken to Paul Roos, if no one picks him up we'll get him. Savage - Happy to come to us if for second round pick if he doesn't go to Carlton. Mitchie - Richmond might make a run at him. Cross - Between as Blues and us. Janesch - Staying at Adelaide since Callilan most likely will go. Callilan for a 4th/5th pick. Don't be surprised if we only use 3 picks in the drat on kids. After pick 25, the draft is very very weak. Liam Patrick - Senior Rookie list Jake King - Roos keen on him. Loves his grunt and passion for the jumper. I don't want the [censored] though. Roos thinks our major problem is most of the players don't show heart, so he's trying to bring in players with mongrel and toughness: ala Cross, King etc

  40. Paid through the nose because that is what they need. Roughhead out of the ruck. We need a while mess of things so we can't entertain that sort of deal. And young Billy Longer? Where are your jibes now son? Talk to other clubs because you are not going to Hawthorn now.

  41. How about Jamar for Sewell and we throw in Ryan Ferguson as the steak knife?

  42. Josh Caddy showed in the preliminary final why Geelong went after him. He will be a very good footballer for them.

  43. GWS should play hardball and find the best trade. They should be dictated by the players club of choice. In the Adams situation. GWS should go with the best offer on the table from any club. They need to make a stand and not allow these kids to dictate where they go or it will send a message to the rest of the playing group that we will send you home to your club of choice if you desire.

  44. Jamar is being traded moreso to get his money and contract of our books, as opposed to gaining us a great pick. Don't be expecting a Pick 20 back he'll be lucky to net us a third rounder

  45. Its going to be very interesting to see how this plays out.it will say a lot about how far we've come over the recent journey and indicate how well positioned we might be for what lays ahead. Almost as an aside to whether hes the man for the job if he's the chosen one then that's that. I want to see this club of ours go hard at this. Colless and his honchos have run riot of late rampaging the league and in reality paying absolutely lip service if that to the laws and spirit. Yes, they're single minded and ruthless in their pursuits and they have 2 recent flags as reward. Well thats how you do it apparently. So time to turn the tables. We want something lets take it. let them taste blood ( their own ) since theyre so fond of its value. I want Melbourne to take on Sydney. I want us to get what we want and I want them to hurt and I want to see this spill over into some real fair dinkum inter-city rivalry. We need a new foe. Yes we have QB but its almost a gentleman's thing these days. The fire and brimstone tete a tetes of yesteryear aren't seen out on the ground these days. I want a few teams to start hating us and I can find no better candidate to start with than the Swans. get Dew !!!

  46. I swear to god, if all we manage to pick up is Didak, who is 100% finished, and Jake effing push ups King... I'd rather get no-one than those two.
    3 points
  47. I'd almost prefer Dew to stay at Sydney for next year, we'd then be more likely to have Roos for 3 years as opposed to 2. Ain't nothing wrong with that!!!!
