the only way we are going to get him is if we finish last so I don't want to know anything about him unless after 22 rounds we unfortunately do find ourselves in that position. Number 2, will be Daniel Rich. I've heard his name for the last 2 years so it looks like a strong draft if you have an early pick.

Looks like a good year to be [censored]!

Bring on Naitanui

Seems like a bit of a marketing player as well. Those locks of his!

I honestly don't reckon we'll need to tank it this year, we're going to be shocking and will romp it in for the spoon. Naitanui all the way!!

very disappointing that we are already talking about this stuff before a ball has been bounced for this year

Too many people are pre-judging a season that hasn't even started. The "See I told you we were [censored]!" trophy is all ready adorning a few mantle pieces and we haven't played a serious game in anger.

There's a few candidates here!

I wouldn't waste a first pick on a ruckman. We need the best KPP in the draft

I can't believe you think that the ruck is not a key position. You obviously dont play footy. In our team we treat every stoppage as a goal scoring opurtunity and the best ruckmen increase this chance of scoring 3 fold. Just as important position as any.

Id pick a decent full back ahead of a ruck. You can shark the oppositions if need be. Its nicer with good rucks for sure, but you can play around this ( if need be ) No full back..= you're creamed !!

I played heaps of footy at a very high level, all you need from your ruckman is to make a contest, your ruckman can win as many taps that he wants but if your midfield can't read the tap and the opposition does they will win the footy. Give me a KPP over a ruckman anyday, ruckman aren't match winners give me a good CHF or FF over a ruckman anyday. Name one first round pick ruckman that is a superstar.

The Burger will be the premier ruckman within the next 5 years.

Naitanui is not your average ruck, he has an enormous leap and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th efforts that compare favourably with the best mids in the game. Potentially he could play anwhere.

Having said that and as Freak has already mentioned Daniel Rich is an aboslute gun of a mid, has already played senoir footy in the West for two seasons with very good results. The other one who has stood out at this stage is Hurley, a KPP who dominates the game regardless of whether he plays forward or back.

I'd be as happy as Larry if we snared any of these kids.

If we only win 3 games we can get both Rich and this guy. ;)

if we win 3 games our priority pick will be AFTER the first round...

i.e. pick 1,17,18

I thought that if a team wins 8 or less games in 2 years, they receive a priority pick before the first round. If we were to win 4 games this year, we'd get a priority pick after the first round.

We won't need to tank this year, we are unfortunately going to be that bad this year that we will probably get a priority pick anyway. (whether that be before or after the first round).

one of Naitanui, Hurley and Rich would good, the thought of 2 would be even better. But lets stay in our seats, it's only round 1.

Dean Cox seems to be pretty handy.

No it's got to be four games or less for two consecutive years. We won five last year. If we only win three this year, then we are in line for the following year - much the same as the blues were.

I felt excited at the Dees performance on Sunday. We seem to be building towards a win. Maybe not next week against North but within the next three weeks. The dilemma is, that I've also seen footage of Naitanui - AWESOME!! I don't want to tank all the way to the end of the season but I really want that guy!!!

I have seen him play and athletically he's a freak but as a footballer he's miles behind AFL standard.

Be careful or Melbourne will become Carlton on the field - 20 million top 10 draft picks and still can't win a game

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
