On 3AW Caro strongly believes Judd is already at Collingwood but ...

Collingwood can't fit him in under the salary cap or they would have to trade the likes of Thomas and Pendlebury, which I can't see them doing!

i know its hard...but i think people should just wait for Judd to announce which club he picks.

its getting abit rediculous people guestimating which club he's already supposedly chosen.

hell prob announce it in the next few days...patience!

Her whole premise is based upon "I can't see Colligwood letting him go to another club" and Dwayne's "what Eddie wants he gets". They have no basis of fact. Their arguments are tenuous at best.

Although she did say it's Collingwood with the Dees as the smokey. And later on "Melbourne are the red herring".

Also "How did Stride Management not agree to interview Dean Bailey after his phone call?" This was in reference to the Essendon coaching job.

Caroline Wilson is solid evidence that there is no place for women in football

To think she is the chief sports writer for one of the biggest papers in Australia is absolutely sickening

That is hilarious - but best I stop ready the footy forums and get back to the kitchen.

Doesn't really work does it...

"He'll definitely go to Collingwood, but there's a chance Melbourne will get him..."

Caros' comments were prefaced with "I think". In that regard she is no different to anyone here thinking (hoping) Judd will come to the Dees. Of course my thoughts are based on a desire to see Juddy in Red & Blue, not Carolines perception of the attractivness of the Lexus Ed(die)fice and McChins sales pitch.

Caroline Wilson's mail is usually pretty much spot on and she gets things right more often than some of her fellow journos of the male persuasion.

I'd take Caro over Patrick Smith any day of the week.

Her premise was she read between the lines that Judd wants to play at the MCG and play in the 'big games'. To her that meant it could only be the filth.

You have to remember that journalists bring their own unique preconceptions and bias to the table when they express their opinions - just like supporters. It'd be easier for a Jim Wilson (Carlton) to accept that Judd would want to go to Collingwood rather than Melbourne, or for Caro (Richmond) the same... it'd simply be inconceivable for someone like Grybas (Collingwood) to believe anything else. If Judd chooses Melbourne... it means they all have to go away and not only have to try and rationalise it (gee there won't be a story that doesn't mention he barracked for us as a kid) and admit that maybe that their preconceptions may have been wrong.

thats a bit harsh, we're just trying to tell ourselves that judd is coming home. if thats ur opinion why are u reading all of the posts about judd..."paitence!!"

I've listened to Caro on Footy Classified and on 3AW over the past few weeks, and she has been pretty forthright in saying she really doesn't know where he will go, and has continually said she thinks this and that.......nothing concrete.

She can't just sit there as a reporter and say nothing, but like many others in the media, can make a case for Judd going to the Pies.

I like Caro, and think she is one of the better footy journos going around, but it's pretty safe to say this whole Judd story has her stumped like the rest of them at the minute!

seemed to remember recently Caro was pretty damn sure Connolly would never come to Melbourne..

spot on.........................NOT !! :)

Posted

Maybe thats why Clement retired so they can squeeze Judd in the salary cap. I thought he would have played another year even though he had a few injuries, he is worth more on the field than Bucks

Posted

ive wondered elsewhere, but Clement going creates more problems for Collingwood for mine.. Some may think it opens the coffers more, but that was never going to be a problem for Collingwood.. Now they have positional priorities coming into play they'd rather not have right now... well thats my thinking :)

Posted

maybe this is just me.. but everyone in the press etc are all thinking the "logical' approach to all this. he oughta go here because...or he might go there because of this and that; and to me nothing about this is straightforward in that respect other than he wants to play in Melbourne mainly at the G.

I think this is an excellent point. People will never say he's going to Melbourne because they simply cannot comprehend what appeals about us. Richmond, Melbourne and Carlton are all at about the same place right now, and Richmond and Carlton supporters will simply refuse to see what is better about us than about them. Same with the media. They cannot see what the appeal is about Melbourne. On top of that we have strongly opinionated numpties like Drain Russell talking us out of it.

People quickly forget we were the best Vic Club last season and would have been close to it again if it wasn't for injurys. We are the most underrated team in the comp. If we had a superstar in our team they would talk about us. Hearing about StKilda all the time shits me seens they are the most overrated team in the comp for the simple fact they have Nick Riewoldt. Because he is a superstar they expect special things to happen

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
