Assume James Jordon will go to tag Kozzzzy. Swans have plenty of stars and if negate Kozzzy, that will make it a very tough game indeed.

Kozzy should be able to burn him off if we can put blocks on Jordon isnโ€™t that quick

Too early for Bowza

Correct. He played only half a game in vfl. Got 15 touches but needs another full run at least

Cox is going to heavily rely on goody for info, but maybe we can show goody our new fun, enjoyable game plan

Not sure goody would be much use for engine room info.

So many here underestimate Goodwin as a coach. Strange considering what he did for us.

So so true. He is and will always be a demon legendary coach. Besides the small thing about that flag cough cough , there was also 3 x top 4 finishesโ€ฆ3 more than I experienced in the previous 50 odd years as a supporter.

Could we leave Langdon at HB, which seems to be working? And, use someone else to replace the unfortunate Culley, who I believe will be sorely missed.

Is there someone from Casey who could fill that role?

Iโ€™d prefer that but feel like if Bowey is ready he would come back and Langdon goes back on the wing, I just donโ€™t think we have someone else who can slot into the wing role Culley was playing as well, other options could be CJ and Xavier Linsey but they both also can play roles down back to.

Minimal changes you would imagine. Culley unfortunately out. Obviously if fit Riv or Xavier would come in so not sure really. Maybe Paddy or Jed who the coach has mentioned.

On a side note glad to see Jordon doing well at Sydney (just not this week) I always felt bad for him in our GF and thought May should have come off in the last given his injury so Jordon could get a GF run. Seemed selfish. Just me.

I think he'll go to Steele. Jordon would be spitting out Kozzie's dust.

If King prefers tall wingman who can take a mark and possess a bit of dash, then CJ could fill the bill if we want to keep Langdon & Kolt back.

His attacking nature would be less risky further afield. Failing that, Fritsch could be called upon. He's not too shabby overhead and his forward entries can be dynamic

And he could always drift forward as Langford does

I was a Goody fanโ€ฆ. But the decision to not give JJ some game time was an absolute shocker.

Just to confirm some posters asking.... Yes Howes spent a fair bit of his early career at Casey playing off a wing before moving in to a HB role most of the time.

Just my view but could be trialed here for a stint with Culley going down. More likely we'll see T-Mac coming in, with the potential for Adams but looks a fair way off, for Lingers who heads back there until Culley returns in 27.

The other option but probably less likely is Leb is trialled there for a stint once Rivers returns and replaces him in an outside mid role?

They didnโ€™t have a choice.

You could only bring on a player for someone who was injured

May had a very dodgy hammy, and no one could have argued.

I'd rather he didn't actually given he has been credited as being a key driver of their new, hyper agressive ball movement that has the Swans playing such high scoring, dominant football.

As Director of Coaching and Performance at the Swans, Goodwin is responsible for 'team strategy, training implementation, and overall offense.'

If thatโ€™s true why the hell didnโ€™t he employ that at the dees. Not sure I believe that tbh

Out Culley ๐Ÿ˜ข

In AMW, Bowey?, Lindsay?, Rivers? Melksham?

I doubt we'll see Rivers (knee) or Lindsay (groin) for a while. John Ralph has reported on one, or both.

Not sure either trained last week. Methinks the club is taking a cautious approach with Rivers in order to avoid an op.

I think weโ€™re better off with one ruck. I thought Moose did well this week but Max as a forward is not additive and we can add another runner.

Taylor looks not ready and needs to build his game in the VFL after a taste.

May might have argued

Sydney have had an amazing turn-around since the middle of last year. I had heard stories that the players were completely confused with Coxy's game plan at the start and it was causing a lot of tension.

I'm not convinced they are unstoppable though. Their best wins have been against a severely undermanned Brisbane, a Gold Coast team who are clearly in a bit of a rut and an injury ravaged Dogs team.

I think we'll really push them, although SCG is such a [censored] ground they'll probably beat us. If it was at the MCG I'd be tipping us.

I suspect Kozzie will get a lot more attention from here on out. NWM has absolute wheels on him and heโ€™s been dampened in his output.

Even if it fails, so be it, but I reckon if you limit (I.e. donโ€™t have to fully stop him) Kozzie then weโ€™ll look much less dynamic as team.

They are the epitome of a corridor team.

Close it off at all cost.

Bringing elite heat and disrupting their kicking patterns are key to this game.

While the ground is 10 meters shorter in length there is still plenty of width for us to use.

We'll find out where we truely sit in the next 2 weeks.

If we bring in another tall defender, @Ghostwriter mentioned that today Jed Adams was given best on ground by the Casey coaches. Seeing as he was an emergency last night, youโ€™d expect him to get a call up over Tmac vs Sydney.

Jed Adams BOGโ€ฆโ€ฆ..that amazes me, from what I saw.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
