Congratulations to Paddy and good luck to him. Clearly not a like for like for Steven May more a replacement for a McAdam / Melksham. Just goes to show the more attacking mindset and philosophy of the new coach which is refreshing for both players and supporters.

The last electrician country boy we signed via Casey Demons worked out pretty well with 6 goals in the GF so have a good feeling about this one too! Welcome Paddy

I know nothing about this guy. Who does he play like? How old? Etc

Plays like Will Hayward. Medium forward who is strong overhead and a good kick.

Not sure.

But I know they've got their April/Easter photo for the MFC calendar sorted - a picture of an oiled up Paddy flexing his biceps.

The tag line will read:

Hot Cross Guns!

so given we have to have min 36 on primary list and we had max number of rookies, how do we fit Paddy in?

judging by his photos his got a bit of gym work to do before he can join Jack Viney, Kozzie Pickett and Brodie Mihocek in the Gun Club

Awesome news! Paddy’s the eldest of five boys. I was talking with his mum at the North praccy and she said they were all hoping like hell he’d get on the seniors list, and he has!

Also great news that it’s not an ACL for Luker!

Jamie Elliott with a few extra cm in height and a few hundred less AFL goals.

Kick mark forward is his bread and butter but has rotated on to a wing at Casey and hopefully can play more half forward too.

Replaced a cross player with a Cross player.

Love this.

Reminds me so much of Fritsch with his marking and goal sense ability

Welcome Paddy!

Happy to be proven wrong but I don’t think that’s an issue after the list lodgements after the draft.

Senior list player goes on the Inactive List, you get an extra rookie spot regardless of the main/rookie split.

Give it your best and the world is your oyster.

Play him as a tagger on Dangerfield. He'll kill Patrick. sorry

26 goals in 29 Casey games (and reasonably accurate: 14 behinds)

And 22 of the goals came in the last 14 games (with improved accuracy: 8 behinds)

Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
