since we are being retrospectively hounded by the AFL, keeping with that theme, I will retrospectively out myself and say that i didnt vote but I was an unabashed Juice lover.

I always claimed that he could have been anything and I was proven right - he turned out to be anything but an AFL footballer - damn.

Its only football and my personality doesnt allow me to backtrack after the event. So in the spirit of true "out"manship - I was "newton" about Scully and I was "newton" about Gysberts. I was also "newton" about Jai Sheahan. Here's hoping I am not "newton" about my two latest hobby horses - the "no charges to answer in the tanking investigation" and "Jeremy Howe you are gonna be a superstar".

Guest José Mourinho
Write it down:

Frawley will in at least 1 AA guernsey as a defender, and Jones should start winning blueys around the 2012 season.

Reckon I did alright there...

Is Picket Fence holding you at gunpoint ?

No I'm not, but if my sources are correct there was NO doubt that given his form before his unfortunate knee injury, several AFL clubs had him well and truly on the radar to be drafted for this year. Given a great season with Norwood in 2013 who knows??

I'll back him if he gets on the park!

In fact I'll say this, if Michael Newton plays near enough to a full season at Norwood in 2013 without mishap, he will be drafted in 2014 !!!!

Had this weird dream last night where our Demons went on a prolonged winning streak this season. Will that do?

That would be hilarious and inspiring at the same time .

Cannot happen.

Go back to sleep and find out what happens in September.

Remembering we realize our full potential in this state .(Not Vic).

ironic that we must achieve our dreams whilst riding the reality bus .

Actually, I wasn't making that dream up. It was real (as much as dreams can be real!)

Distinctly remember trying to 'escape' from the dream - nobody could believe it was happening and I felt alienated.

What does it all mean Biff ?

Biffo, I realize you are cut from a different cloth to the rest of us plebs but I am concerned with your constant references to the reality bus. I have recently been using the internet for legitimate research and discovered a group of people that uses buses for , shall we say " distinctive challenges". Where do you stand on this issue? You will never be admitted to polite society in places such as Romsey if you do not have an upright moral stance.

It's amazing isn't it Macca?.Biffo has become the Guru and we all seek his wisdom. If only Stuie would cast aside his pride and bow at the altar of genious.

being a student of Carl Jung ,I can recount to you with some(faked) sincerity the actual importance of dreams in order to realise the potential within our psychic being .

Macca is simply reliving a pre-pubescent fantasy of exclusion which is a necessary part of success and "becoming who you are".

The synchronicity involved in BBOS mentioning of The Reality Bus is quite significant as a pointer to same notions of exclusion/exclusion.

i.e. Macca is exploring the possibility of a "prolonged winning streak" which removes him from the comfort zone of dreaming and into the reality of winning .

my final diagnosis and subsequent advice ,free of charge ,is for Macca to try to maintain a noble humility as we ascend the ladder and then spit on the scum that we no longer need to be nice to.

Ok, we beat Port and Ess in rounds 1 and 2 - done deal.

Round 3 is the Eagles at home - plane strike and they have to drive over - win no.3

Giants and Lions in rounds 4 and 5 - easy peasy.

Round 6 is the Blues - Murphy injured and Judd out for his 4th 'weird' suspension - McLean stretchered off and it's win no.6

Tigers in round 7 - payback for '09 - Win

Round 8 - Gold Coast - in a canter

That's 8 Biff . That's what I call a prolonged winning streak (for our team)

I just hope that at the end of their careers we're comparing number of premierships, norm smiths, colemans, all-Australians and maybe state jumpers collected by a great many on that list. How do you compare Newton's 6 Colemans and 3 premierships with Sylvia's dual brownlows and 3 premierships? Brocky captaining Victoria surely must give him the edge not to mention his efforts captain-coaching Melbourne to their first premiership in 08!

Dare to dream . . . .

Lol, dare to dream indeed

Biffen. You outshine even yourself. Such eloquence, such logic. You are an expert parent, football commentator, environmentalist, social critic, psychotherapist and gutter crawler. It seems to me, with your innate sense of fairness and equality that you are Moderator material.

You can ascend to the heights occupied by Rhino. WYL will grind his teeth in awe and jealousy. This is your calling, this is deification. See post 70 , you have already changed Macca’s life. Australia will have its second saint. We mere mortals will only hope to touch the hem of your dress or hear the rattle of your empty beer can rolling down Punt Rd.

Will you take the challenge? Will you rise above the transient pleasures of the flesh? Will you forego alcohol and seek the insights provided through abstinence? Will you cast off Stuie and rise to greatness?

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
