I generally wonder where Bailey's head is at right now after these meetings.

• Sold on Dees and trying to figure out how to proceed

• Sold on moving but not sure on Dees, contemplating other teams in future (pies, hawks), when current contract expires.

• or geniunely hasn't made a decision yet and is still weighing it up, knowing the Suns are in a strong position and don't want to deal.

I imagine leaving a team that's right there and in contention, to then join the unknown of a new dawn at the Dees might be something that considers a long, hard thinking through. I just wish I knew where his mind was leaning and what the real battle is.

Ideally, I'd love to hear him straight up say.. I want to be a Demon 😂. I need to see that report. But will that happen? Or will that request stay entirely confidential between dees and suns?

My brain lives here and will do for 5 days until answers reveal themselves.. if they do.

Extroadinarily poor negotiation tactic discussing fall back options with a club that is wanting you to blink first.

The only way we were ever any chance to get Humphrey is if the Suns believes a. We wouldn't accept any other deal and B. they wanted Trac more than him.

Sadly i don't think either of those things are true

I thought the same. You dont go into negotiations making it obvious you will back down to a lesser offer.

he's just hitting the ball at speed, busting people out of the way, grabbing it first time and moving it on.

The thing I like the most about him is his hands. He's so clean with players around him that he only needs one touch.

This ^ and this ^ - for those that haven't seen Humphrey play - thanks AoB.

He's not far off hitting his straps, which will be well served as a starting mid at the Dees v a pecking order mid at GCS.

4 of those 8 are tied to clubs and is around 9-10 of the 30 that are club tied.

I think it’s maybe 3 or 4 non club tied standouts at the top, and then pretty even afterward.

Ben King would be interesting, somewhat surprised there’s not more talk of him given he’s a pre agent. But I suspect he holds out until his free agency.

Mac Andrew, Jed Walter, Ethan Read of course.

A wildcard - Will Graham is a beauty. Not for Tracc straight up but certainly as part of a deal.

I brought up Will Graham the other down but got blasted for it because hes an average plodder similar to James Peatling lol..

But I agree, ge is an absolute beauty.

Agree, Graham would be a solid pick up assuming the Suns hold firm on Humphrey.

I imagine Bailey has the weekend to make up his mind with Sunday night the deadline. He’d have our offer or best pitch and know he and GC need to publicly shut it down come Monday if GC going to then try do a picks deal with MFC.

Fingers crossed.

We will be lambasted from pillar to post if picks 7&8 and Humph are not included in this trade for Tracc.

Lamby and Co can work whatever picks GC need for their NGA from our picks 24, 28, 42 etc into the deal.

I will be looking very closely at these trade happenings.

If we don't walk away with a draft haul my membership will be taken off auto renewal and I'll register my pet turtle for a membership with the club.

Do you think a Collingwood, Hawthorn or Brisbane would roll over on a deal for a generational player with 4 years to run on a deal?

Show some sack Lamby, not folds.

An interesting side to the discussion about how much the proposed picks are worth - even though Taylor & Co. haven't always hit every pick (the curse of Nick 426 Smith lives on, or is that the curse of Nick Sauntner?), they've had an exemplary run of estimating where the drop-away points in each draft has been.

You can go all the way back to 2020 when we got Bowey at 21 and had been desperate in live trading on the night to move up that tiny fragment to get Max Holmes at 20, instead of holding 21 and 22. But what is interesting is you could have moved ten picks further up and done no better.

So I'd trust the club if we decided 7 and 8 got the job done.

For all that, Humprey was pick 6 and has probably advanced higher than that in reckonings after his first three seasons.

The complex problem he creates for opponents is illustrated by his unusual statistical combo - a contested mark per game combined with a goal assist per game. Which Hulk movie was it, where Jake Melksham says "If you could take what I know now and put it in the body I had ten years ago..."?

Absolutely worth more than picks 7 and 8, and we should be thrilled if it comes to a straight swap for Petracca.

The Pies traded a 28 year old 2 x All Australian and B&F winner for … pick 27.

Not true last year's crop was fantastic particularly because they played or didn't play through COVID as juniors.

Langford could have gone number 1 in other years and I remember watching that draft thinking if he gets to us it's a miracle.

I didn't want X because all the highlights were horrendous but as soon as he got on the park it was obvious he was harder at the footy than Langford which was surprising. His decision making is off the charts too.

Richmond got some absolute guns.

That draft ran deep

7&8 and Humphrey? Hahaha. Consider your membership cancelled

A silver lining for us all.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
