Classic Goodwin eh…goody2

Never one to risk, always protecting his mates and playing favourites 🤷‍♂️

Thank christ Melbourne Storm are playing tomorrow night so I can turn my attention to watching that instead.

Storm are playing for a possible top spot.

Their membership is now much the same as ours at mid 40's

Big game

Sharp should have been "axed" and Billings brought in! God damn guy was #3 draft pick get him in the side he's red hot baby!!

Meaningless stat. Josh Schache was #2 draft pick in his year.

Did we beat the hawks last week ,is that why there is no change this week. Kentfield and Adams your'e lucky that you are going to be part of the slaughter match. All up and coming players should request a trade next year whilst they still have their sanity left. This club is pathetic, it is like Goody is still coaching the rubble. Essendon will be very happy that we have gifted them an early draft pick.

Yep!

Much more exciting spectacle to watch.

Can't wait

2 x free tickets available in AFL members, lower level - DM if you want ‘em.

Its like they are actually trying to sap the joy from supporter base.

Give a kid or 2 a crack to show some sort of hope for the future! FFS!

Haha I know, tongue firmly in cheek, but still I used to think Billings was nowhere near the level but at least he's shown some serious form in the VFL...how that translates though is impossible to tell, mind you I'm sure we all probably have an idea of how that would translate...poor Jack, hopefully he can prove us wrong in 2026 because he can obviously play.

We got pants'd and no changes??? So strange, oh well they probably want to keep the other guys fit and healthy because the VFL team are actually playing for something.

No changes is not at all surprising…

-They want the guys who’re gonna play for Casey in finals to be rested and ready to go

-They don’t want to debut guys and wreck their confidence against a good side

Losers mentality!

Bump this!

I would have happily given Billings a farewell game if he wanted. It's not like his form doesn't warrant it.

I suppose Sharp will be the sub after his ripping performance v the Hawks [censored]

I reckon we might have had 10% of the crowd last week against Hawthorn, and that was a free game for members.

This week we might struggle to get 2% if we're lucky.

Good luck to anyone planning to attend to witness the slaughter.

Really ..I’m going in the hope of a win but also because it’s my team & they need us to support them… don’t they ? I’m a member & a supporter & I certainly don’t not go to games because we might get “slaughtered”.

No changes how lucky are Sharp and Sparrow? They should get rid of Chaplin at the end of the year even though he is contracted.

Billings is out of contract at the end of this season.

I think we've seen the last of him.

Tough game against the bulldogs. I was considering going instead of going to the G, but the bulldogs fans are just as feral if not worse than pies fans

Why did they get him from the Saints again?!

McRae has confirmed Howe is playing. That dents our chances are fair bit. He killed us last time.

Only if we bomb it in high

Not before time!

Good to c we r changing things up a bit in the last 3 weeks. FFS I am looking forward to the end of the season.

This season has been so draining and mostly depressing. Chaplin seems to be a Goodwin clone. Unbelievable.

It's like Goodwin has got in Chaplin's ear to play the core of the team that have been together for a number of years before the team gets ripped apart.

No changes to the side. I reckon both TMac and Milkshake must be planning on playing on next year, because I feel like it would be announced as a farewell game by now.

I hope so for the obvious reasons but also because he’s on 247 games and I’d love to see him play his 250th.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.
