I canโ€™t see JL getting the flick. That would be a weird and harsh decision given they actually arenโ€™t far away From the top of the ladder (like the entire top 9)

They will 100% flick him if they don't make finals, he almost got flicked mid year when they were struggling.

they have a very good list and are underperforming IMO, they have mids, Defenders and Forwards, and at least one Elite player in each area, including ruck.

If that was us we would be furious of missing finals.

they're pretty much an 'is hayden young playing all four quarters?" team

he's so important to them

I just thought I'd mention that Terry Wallace's line is open and accepting calls...

But in all seriousness I am told that in the industry there are certain behaviours or signs that explain the real things going on. Like inner sanctum of the footy world a lot more is known about a lot of things than we mortals are privy to.

Such as ongoing 'hamstring' tightness resulting in frequent pre-game day trips to Dorovich pathology or prospective coaching options bowing out because they know they have no chance or know who the club really is aiming at or openly bowing in only when it's overly clear they won't be embarrassed.

Does this mean Jackson is coming home? Take it to the bank! Like Scully staying or did I get ahead of myself with that one as well?

ohh if only, sounds like there must have been some truth to that. So, you would hope we are digging very deep into it. Don't know how we get the deal done though. dont want to be trading too many future picks away with Tassie looming

Not only did we have to deal with the devastation of that loss, it then took us over an hour to get out of the car park.... If we'd been two rows over, we would've gotten straight out but we were directed halfway around VFL Park.

Please stop mentioning 87,you just ripped the bandaid of again and its bleeding profusely!โ˜ ๏ธ

Whoever the new coach is has a big job on their hands.

Putrid performance today. Our skills are deplorable

Maybe the board are more switched on than many think (assuming reports of them believing we are a ways off are true). I reckon Buckley is possibly a mistake for both parties...our group is no good and the top end needs an almost complete turnover (pardon the pun).

Yesterday. We might have put the fees up for the new coach but in no way would it scare a decent coach off. At times they showed a lot, it was just too far apart and with no fluidity Sone players showed their true worth by being behind thrif player all day. And done showed their limitations. But the rest , at times showed they had worth . Go Deeโ€™s Not totally discouraged.

The issue Iโ€™m worried about is that our midfieldโ€™s poor fit for the modern game became clearer again yesterday, and theyโ€™re all on big, long contracts that provide us little trade value.

Not a whole heap for a new coach to work with up forward too, sadly.

A new coach might/should be looking at that thinking that he hasnโ€™t got many cards to play if he is to get us back into contention immediately, which appears the expectation.

Couldnt agree more!

Delusion at all levels and the worst list management in the league make it impossible to turn this around quickly

A phone call to Luke breust would be in order. Specialist forward craft coach. Probably THE guy with the goal kicking knack and forward craft - if he can teach it he is probably the difference for our forwards half craft

...and yet we scored 7.8 to 8.11 after qtr time and 6.5 to 6.7 after 1/2 time. This against a possible top 4 team. I imagine a potential new coach would be licking his lips!

I want to see that scoring that way, but, being there, it definitely didn't feel that way, that Hawthorn dominated only in the first quarter.

However, I think prospective coaches (prospective coach?) would be looking at a suite of positive performances over a longer period (as well as of moments within yesterday?)

We were odds on for this guy....at least up until yesterday

The reports that we want to appoint someone before the GF would all but rule out anyone from a team that make it past the first week of finals.

Dunno... we seem rather adept at selecting people who start months down the track ...

Ha! But what I mean is Iโ€™m pretty sure the AFL rules prevent us from formally interviewing/appointing someone with a club in the finals.

Hawks were toying with us.
