hoping Jai Culley has a memorable debut

otherwise, the lowest care factor i've had a for a game in a long time

we'll probably win by 10 goals

and it will mean very little in the grand scheme of things

Oh goody!

A pre-breakfast start time for me this week.

It will all be over prior to the first coffee.

Dees down by 47 at the last break… and…. You know it… win by one.

Head questions my sanity but the heart will wake me to watch it all.

Possibly the worst WCE team to take the park with the outs they have. This really should be a 10-15 goal win.

It honestly will not surprise me in the slightest if we lose this game. And if we do, it won't even be our worst effort of the last 7 days. I reckon it would take an 80+ point loss to even get near the level of embarrassment of last week.

It seems that not many MFC people are laying much responsibility on the players to show competence and consistent effort at this club (still). Play stupid games you win stupid prizes.

Please boys don’t mess this up again, one of the most depressing drives home ever last week….

I can only go if the kids want to go and after going last week, their interest is somewhat lower than normal.

Bad parent = make them attend anyway

Good parent = let them stay home. Go to a park and then lunch. Maybe we’ll go to the Hawks game instead.

Best parent = tell them that today is the last game of the year so we won’t need to talk about footy until March. Then go to a park followed by lunch.

Welcome to Sad Sack City, population: lots

What’s happened to our usual gameday thread? It normally doesn’t turn to sch!tt until the first bounce.

Come on you lot! You can’t say you don’t care because guess what…. YOU DO CARE!

Why else would you post in this thread or even read it?

What’s that I don’t hear you say (but can imagine you thinking it): it’s ok for you Ghosty, you’re slightly deranged and you subsist on a diet of Red Bull and coffee. But…

I’ve not had a coffee nor a Red Bull yet and I’m still as pumped for today’s match as every other week*

GO YOU MIGHTY DEMONS!!!

❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

Us by Jai and Luker. For the mathematically-challenged that’s 90 points

*yeah ok, I’m still slightly deranged with or without stimulants

ok its gameday and i am ready for this packet of fags 2 bottles of scotch ,brie and havarti cheeses.Noose ready in case we get beat GO DEES Good morning my little sheet rack [censored] well today.Cameron Diaz Alcohol GIF

Hiding to nothing today.

No one will bat an eyelid if we win, even by 60+.

A loss will be disastrous.

Really just want to see intensity from all, and some promise from the kids.

half time

Tired Good Night GIF

Playing local footy so at least inwont have to force myself to watch it.

Its all about the kids for me. More game time and experience for the likes of Windsor, JVR, Culley, Howes, Turner and Langford..

Way past caring on whether we win or lose today.

It should be the other way around.

Eyelids should be batting like mofos with a win and not bat at all with a loss since everyone’s given up, has zero care factor etc. so clearly a loss won’t surprise.

By my reckoning this is Goody’s 9th or 10th Last Chance Saloon (depending on where you start, I’m going by the Alice loss).

Just a friendly suggestion: if you legitimately don’t care… don’t watch it. There’s no gun to your head.

Hey Old Spooky One: Enjoy watching the game today! Let’s barrack hard for our Dees.

If we’re any hope of winning this we need to address our last quarters at Marvel this year.

Us - 1.6.12

North/St Kilda - 17.3.105

That’s gives me no confidence at all.

I am down from Brisbane with my young fella and have no idea what to expect but we are prepared for disappointment. Part of being a Melb supporter I suppose.

Will be interesting to c what happens.

Good parent = get them into watching our women's AFLW team. A much more enjoyable team to follow who play hard for each other

have to get the spit of the tv from last week LETS GO DEES

After last week, nothing will surprise me, but I’m tipping the Dees, ‘cos my ❤️💙 tells me I must!

I hate Marvel, and have dinner plans, so i shall not be attending today. Go Dees, do it by a huge margin and shift the spotlight away from us for the week..

What's happened there Jnr? I was sure he recently had at least top 5 finish in their B 'n F.

McQualter not a fan?

He must be coming to the end of his contract too.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
