If it's not a bump there's no case to answer.

If the ball can bounce unpredictably then how is May to predict if he will get to it first or not?

The AFL is a clown show, I'm really growing to hate this sport/competition. Amateur hour all round. Can't wait for the NFL to start again, so much better than the AFL these days.

Yep, losing passion for this sport. Never thought it would happen, but the game is almost ruined.

I know not many like the NRL, but since Covid that sport is next level entertainment on the TV.

What would happen if May got to the ball first and the exact same collision happened?

No case to answer clearly.

“May should have known even if he did t know that Evan’s would get to the ball first”

AFL tribunal is clutching at straws

They are, but i have a feeling that the AFL would buck all trends and make a call on this one.

Exactly, so considering it was a split second between May getting to the ball first or second and considering the predictability of the bounce if the ball how could they possibly argue that May is culpable for the injury to Evans? It's a farce.

Doubt that very much as May would have taken possession but still cleaned up Evans on the way through so would have been charged I suspect. Now if May was 12 cm shorter the collision’s impact would have been different and Evans would be on trial.

Ban upheld. 3 weeks.

Joke, but cant say I didnt expect it.

They leave a lot to be desired!

So bloody corrupt it’s hard to keep following the AFL !

Get absolutely stuffed.

Appeal appeal appeal

Sick to death of our players being made an example of, while thugs from other clubs get off. Enough.

Here is an interesting fact.

The tribunal has run 3 hours, to decide if a bloke did the wrong thing in a split second.

The player has a split second to do something and yet it takes 3 hours of evidence watching the incident from a hundred angles, multiple times and at multiple speeds and then hours of deliberation to decide that he should or shouldn’t have done what he did in a split second.

This is a f’n joke.

They have turned the game into a joke.

I know it’s not the point but he’ll only be genuinely missed for the Dogs game.

He can’t play St Kilda irrespective of the suspension and lord help Goodwin if we can’t beat West Coast without May.

That gets 3 weeks and Maynard got off. [censored]. And don't @ me about the [censored] supposed rule change at the end of that year. [censored]'s sake.

MELBOURNE defender Steven May has been banned for three matches for his high hit on Carlton forward Francis Evans

AFL has officially turned to [censored].

AFL is dead to me

I'll remember where I was the night footy died.

Although arguably that happened when Maynard walked.

What a sad day for footy and for all us footy fans, they are truly corrupt. Just hopeless.

Okay, well if you're going to ban someone for that enough is enough you need to also ban the knee in the back of the head or spleen or lungs as a result of a speccy...go all in or not at all AFL you bunch of [censored] suckers!

[censored] GO [censored] YOURSELVES YOU [censored] JOKE OF AN ORGANIZATION JUST GOGET****ED JESUZ CHAARIST

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
