Oh dear we are being murdered through the middle.

Is Kozzie off?

Think concussion test

Another goal to end of the quarter

Predictable mentally weak performance once again with the usual smattering of shizen skills. We are a very hard watch. Thank God for Kozzie.

Can't match it with one of the worst teams going this season. Shizen Melbourne just [censored] shizen

Our skills and inability to convert or sort out the forward line is something you could not imagine up in your worst nightmares.

It's seriously time to look elsewhere before we end up in a cocoon of perpetual horror

Simon's had three seasons to get so much right but instead all we've done is regress

I am so angry I have to turn it off

this is not good for me

hope we turn it around

Anyone else want Goodwin to be coach in 2026?? In fact he should be sacked after this game.

another shocker from the ump

and again on the siren

GAGF AFL. why the [censored] can't you overpaid money grabbers sort out the umpring

Kozzie injured, seriously

Rabble Melbourne..

Senior players once again being liabilities. Viney, Chandler, Oliver, Langdon, Lever. Melksham have all cost us today.

I've been done with Oliver for a while but time to cut all ties and let him go. Time and time again we're conceding goals from him purely from dump stupid long kicks to opposition defenders.

Wake up you blokes!

@binman

1st half

seriously our skills are sub standard !! We kill ourselves with turnovers. Trac. Clarry. JV7. Worst offenders.

our kicking inside50 … straight to Ratugolea every time

Kozzzy is our only contributor

Goals in last 2 minutes of every quarter. It’s a pandemic now as Dees leak goals.

Steven May is such a dumb bloke

Game over

What.

Rubbish free right in front of goal at the end of the quarter.

What's the point?

The point for umps is to give Port an advantage

As usual to script can’t score , coping goals in the last minute … Goodwin we are going backwards , fwd issues continue for 4 seasons, no fwds who can hold a mark! How about leaving JvR instead of flogging him as a ruck

Our delivery inside 50 is insanely poor.

And our game plan of kicking it to Ratugolea needs to go in the bin.

Dumb football.

It's going to be a long bye week.

Why was that a free AGAINST Max???

Otherwise, that was a crapfest.

The only people who will ever stop us being a great team is us.

We are our own worst enemy.

Port left unchecked all game, grabbing mark i50 at will, and gifted a few goals through silly errors and dumb turnovers.

And can we please for the love of god find someone who can clunk marks??? Everytime the ball heads to us, it's a dropped mark, or just outworked, but kicks to everyone else, they always just seem to be so much cleaner.

Outmarked everywhere.

Viney is getting smoked by Butters. Get him off and get Langdon on him. Viney is simply a plodder and cannot go with the more dynamic players of the competition.

Massive coaching blunder.

Clearly the entire playing and coaching groups have got overseas trips starting tomorrow, because none of them have any interest in playing football today.

Looks that way......

Insert comments about JVR doubters etc

Sure.

Two dropped marks as a KPF cost us goals in the second quarter. Normal service resumed.

umps are useless as per usual but not why we are losing

i50 delivery terrible. petty hopeless. trac subdued.

clueless going forward

only for kossie magic we would looking at a shellacking

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
