I made mention of this in my report about Casey’s game last Saturday night against Collingwood VFL but will repeat it for you because many people are still trying to digest the information.

This week Casey is slated as the host at ETU Stadium, Port Melbourne, home of the famous Burraberger (but not sure if available for this event), against Essendon’s VFL team.

ETU Stadium is in Williamstown Road, Port Melbourne and once simply went by the very plain tag of North Port Oval.

Anyway, if you’re in the area, please come along and support the boys who are going for their fourth win on the trot.

Interesting free kick stats from the two two Kings Birthday Weekend games between the Demons and the Magpies ~

• AFL Pies 29 frees Demons 20 frees

• VFL Pies 33 frees Demons 17

• Overall Pies 62 frees Demons 37 frees

We really do play dirty, don’t we?

Thanks SP it really is quite damning isn’t it, I hate favouritism in any aspect of the game and Pies are getting it in Spades and the Media circus won’t even notice.

Also damning is the combined scores of the two teams at the weekend.

Demons 17.26.128 to Pies 18.12.120

And we hear nothing from the media about how poor the feeder comp is. Too scared to upset their masters.

It should be an interesting game, we have Jefferson back playing after not playing in either side last weekend. I wouldime to see Kentfield in the forward line. Weather forecast is cold, by game time in single figures with chance of showers. Would appear this fixturing is to give 7 something to show on Saturday evening.

Reckon so, OD.

Probably give North (who?) v Freo (who?) a run for its money, too!!

I fully agree that the competition is a joke, but why wouldn't Casey have a bye in the same week as the senior team?

If they didn't, Casey would be fielding 23 Casey listed players whilst the MFC players take their mid season break.

Was thinking that might be a nice outing for a Burra Burger and some dim sims but then saw the time. As a daytime venue Port is very pleasant with a big grassed verge behind the main road goal. (Warning if you go to a Port game their supporters are lovely but they love their team)

Windy Hill is also an interesting ground to attend. More of an open park these days with a couple of the 60's style grandstands. Had to ask where the scoreboard was. Turned out to be on a far fence at ground level. Very upmarket surroundings at Windy Hill these days. The other strange thing is that because much of the ground is unfenced it was free entry

Everything about this comp is beyond rational. Why is this game at Port?

That's because th MFC have a bye on the same time as well.

It's normal when AFL club has a bye the VFL will too.

All player then will have mandatory time off away from the footy club during their break.

Maybe because it has lighting suitable for night games to be shown on TV. The game is being broadcast on 7.

Yeah know that Dazz just...... frustrated with lop sided Byes and Schedules! All the best P.F

I assume Tmc and Kolt will travel with the squad to Adelaide

Sestan (hamstring strain) misses again

Culley, Sharp and Jeffo back in after being rested last week

This is a key match to win this weekend to stay in the finals hunt

i didn't think plugger mac was selected in the mfc side?

perhaps he's traveling to radelayed as an emergency

We've taken a tall defender pretty much every week in the emergencies, TMAC is the emg this week

Really hope Kalani plays well. I've been trying to follow his progress for a while and it's been a little underwhelming based on efforts against same agers. Hopefully there's a master plan!!

This is precisely the reason, as it was last week at Whitten Oval. Only some grounds are set up for a match that’s to be televised.

Can see a lot of Kozzie in Mentha
