The Gold Coast Suns have won 5 games at the MCG in total since their inception in 2011. The Suns MCG victims were Melbourne in 2013, 2014, Hawthorn in 2017, Collingwood in 2021 and Richmond in 2024.

The last Suns win against Melbourne was in 2014. I believe we will win today by 12 points. Let's hope my prediction is correct.

Langford 20 & 3

If it was Jakovich I'd read that as 20 goals and a 3 week suspension.

Did they not do their homework or pickup their mess ??

Life isn’t always a bed of roses. It’s a lesson they need to learn.

You'd rather lose and justify to yourself our gamesyle is no good than win against an up and coming side where our gamestyle holds up?

Did you read my post? I was responding to someone stating that Carlton losing will take the heat off us if we lose too.

Are you sure you can take kids.

I thought after last week's effort the AFL rated our game style MA15 😜

There’s a difference between adults only and unwatchable Brownie

In the little paper this morning Parkin talks about Mitchell

If you cannot score you cannot win

How simple how true

Hope we can score better inside our F50 today

I will cheer for those missing todays game

Go Dees

Whilst this week is by no means a write off, I'm really excited about next week. If we can get through today without any injuries then next week we could have a fit and firing Kozzie, Melksham with a game under his belt, Lever and May back together. All signs point towards a better showing

🤔

The Suns will come up out absolutely firing and will set the tone for the game quickly.

We will be in the back foot from the first quarter and will put in a similar performance as North.

I seriously thought we would have turned the corner from an effort and intensity performance after some rather dour displays last year. But after putting up that game in Round 2 of the season, I have huge doubT.

Unfortunately in a long time I won't be at the G today. Heading over the border for a family birthday.

But will be listening on the drive up.

Hopefully the boys get the job done

Wow the new site on mobile is amazing Very effective for viewing the gameday thread.

Is there a Demonland app in development? Maybe that's the next frontier for DL

It's a grey day, the low clouds glowering over the MCG as if they're unhappy with the rejigged game plan the Demons are playing.

Another day of disappointment losing to a fanless interstate irrelevant club on our home ground

Houston, we have season lift off? Wrong bloke here’s…

I was so fuc%ing glad to see Carlton loose. Takes the pressure off us to rebound (or maybe the pressure off us supporters)

For what it's worth I think we will win. We play the G better than the Suns and I'm backing JVR to do what chin did and have an elite game. Let's fuc$ing go Dees

Did they loose or lose? I an a little confoosed

Big game. Can't afford to drop another.

Goody using extra strength deodorant today that's for sure. A fair bit of chewy being worked over in the coaching box.

Some sweaty folk all about.

So what's going to change short of some huge successful key forward miraculously falling from the sky.

Dees by 3 goals.

Wait. ...Gcs by 4 points.

Hold the press.... Us by 5 points.

Stop....Gold coast by 7 goals.

Then again us by 4 goals.

Oh who the hell knows. Anyone's guess I guess.

Let's at least go down swinging this round as opposed to last week's week effort.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
