I'm tiring of it too. All the docos, candid interviews, revenge tours. It's like we want to be public enemy no.1 in the 'us against the world' mold. 

I get that we need to communicate with media and I also get that Goody probably made an error on Sunday speaking about Max but can we just ease up on the proclamations for a few weeks at very least while we get the football stuff back on track?

How good was it!

I'm not watching any footy shows at the moment but I did switch to 360 to catch a glimpse of this, brilliant analysis.

I also love the fact that two players fresh off the bus from other clubs, Barass and Battle, have played a couple of games together and already display the synergy that can take a few years to develop. In my book that's not only good footy IQ but exceptionally good coaching.

My post is about the media concentrating on a minor matter, as though it was a murder, rather than other more serious or interesting matters, that are available to be spoken about.

People need to stop reading into posts what they think is being said, instead of what is actually being said.

It was not a "woe is me" post, it was a comment on the media, turning a small matter into WW3, hence the title "Media Madness".

 

Don't woirry about it. I don't think you think the media is against us and these people are jumping the gun.

Roosy was highly respected within media circles and obviously his reputation probably played a big part in that. Fair to say he also kept the players in line with his standards around culture and behaviours. 

This was a different time, though. Today, everybody has a camera with them. In addition, players are part of the generation who want to use social media to keep their friends, colleagues (and enemies) aware of where they are, who they are with and what they are doing.

We had guys with major gambling issues and players caught up in the party culture in the daniher time. It wasn't much better

Fabulous thanks Daz.  Great to hear / see some of the fundamentals and tactics with that sort of behind the play vision from Fox.

The Hawks look to be very well drilled here and everything clicking into place.

They'll be a hard team to counter this season.

Great to hear Simpson's insights of the modern game given he has only just departed.

I finally twigged this morning when Simon Goodwin once again went out if his way to admit he overdid it mentioning Gawn's off-field strain.

We had a ten goal loss against a comparatively low-rated team on the weekend and four days later the media lead is still "Does Goodwin love his Captain too much?"

F'n genius 5-D chess media management.

Hilarious stuff.

And here we all are playing our part, kicking up a stink like we're back at the old banana tariff protests.

it would seem that more and more players aren't coping with the sheer amount of scrutiny that they come under from external sources - i.e. not from their employer, but from those examining and reporting on their employee

Exactly right 2 new players doing exactly what they should be doing. 
Over 3 years our forward Line has been a shambles 

You cannot describe it any other way

90% of that has to be on the Coaching

Which we were doing in ‘21 with Gus and Lingers dominating the Wings

Barrass and Battle are playing very similar roles at Hawthorn as they did at West Coast and St Kilda. Plug and play really. Would be why they were targeted

Have been listening for the past couple and havent heard this. Id say its made up too, otherwise the media engine would be going bazonkers.

Media taking us to task & rightfully so! We are at sea , no CEO , interim President, all this talk about love is fluff and broadcasting this to the AFL world makes us look amateur! The numbers in the last 2 weeks across all metrics of the game are virtually the worst across all the teams, we are in deep trouble across all parts of the club once again!

As a Melbourne supporter, im afraid this scenario is always in play. Im not surprised that we have allow a series of things that are incredibly difficult to [censored] up with a sprinkle of MFCSS. It is typical Melbourne. We need help to save ourselves from ourselves.

I feel like this is just semantics. He's a short term president who has taken on the job until Smith is ready in a years time. It's the definition of interim.
