With 3 talls and Fritsch forward and 5 mids (Viney, Tracc, Oliver, Riv, Langdon) I think we need to start both Sharp and Lindsay on the wings and Henderson across half forward.

Langford is the sub for mine.

You need a plan for Lachie Whitfield and co that isn’t serving up a one paced 19 year old midfielder at half forward on debut.

you forgot sparrow

How many of the debutants will kick goals? Jeffo definitely.

He might, but in the match meeting did anyone else get a sense of real cameraderie at Jeffo's debut announcement!

They really got around him PF!

That’s just 11 players who represented the club in our last AFL premiership outing! Bring it on! (Round 25 1994)

I'm struggling to find the high half forward who is going to run the corridor defence to Forward and back again (ANB role).   I guess it has to be Sparrow.  Sharp has the tank but not really hard enough in defence.

It's on the MFC YouTube channel

Really. WOW.

Sharp is faster, good endurance, and better kicking skills than ANB.

What we will miss from ANB is that gut running and his leadership qualities.

The average age of Sunday's listed players - 25.5 - is over 2.5 years younger than the team Collingwood fielded against GWS last weekend (28.2). There are 15 players under 28, and 8 over.

  • Under 23: 8 players
  • 23 to 27: 7
  • 28 to 29: 5 (Fritsch, Lever, Langdon, Petracca, Salem)
  • Over 30: 3 (Viney, May, Gawn)

This is close to the perfect balance IMHO. (Maybe less U/23 and more 23 to 27 if we're winning premierships)

They announced it last !
Made him work for it.

Agree a great vibe when he was announced.

This speaks to the idea of change in the club, faith shown in the recruits and a chance for us to be very different than last year.

Yes and no. 3 of those changes have been forced through the unavailability of Kozzie, McVee and Thostrup, all of whom would have certainly been playing, plus probably Turner. Not to mention the departure of ANB, without even considering Melksham and Spargo, both injured/not ready.

Not quite the radical shakeup, we actually have a lot of injuries and are just covering them.

Not complaining either, but not sure how many of these debutantes will be able to hold their spots once the regulars are available.

Not a huge fan of how many debutants we have. It smacks a bit of desperation, though admittedly I've not seen much from anyone who is debuting.

That’s quite amazing 3 years later.

I’m sorry about the way I phrased that… I meant in our last game for points! Oh hell, our last game!
