Has kicked 4 goals in an AFL game.

Also worked at Charcoal chicken.

Expect Dwayne Russell to continually rattle of these tid bits all day if he's in the commentary booth.

Maybe Layzie but not in my head, I’m looking for improvements, something to look forward to, I won’t sign off until the B& F and National Draft is completed. Then I will take a long break until the pre-season.

You're a great inspiration for us all DeeZone. Could definitely learn a thing or two from you 🙂

Similar pedigree to Max working at Domino's

Has he ever got caught smoking durries on the way to training too?

Maybe Jai has a large extended family and a lot of friends that will help fill some of the many empty seats tomorrow.

Oftentimes DeeZone is the only reason I bother with this site. I dearly wish there were more DeeZone-ish folks on here.

I’m doing my level best to this end. My brother and his two sons* are sitting in the cheer squad tomorrow and I’ve told them they may not necessarily be near me since we’ll likely have to spread people out. A sparse cheer squad bay is not a good look.

I'll be there with dad. Two sad sacks who need their heads examined.

I had no idea Jai was 194cms! Taller than Aidan Johnson and TMac!

Has a real presence and has some fantastic attributes. Could float forward and clunky a mark.

Tmac is 195 ..

Culley is a handy size. A few more games won't hurt him.. or us.

Didn't do a heap with ball in hand but an impressive aerial game on display today

Definitely play him the next few weeks to see what we've got

Good debut in red and blue.

Great to see him given a chance

Liked his marking.

Needs work on kicking but he has good attributes

Biggest knock is his pace. He was caught a few times with Eagles getting away from him on the run.

You are joking right? Go watch his two entry kicks inside 50 to the proper ‘hotspot’ that resulted in goals. A welcome point of difference from the bomb kick

Culley had some presence out on field today. He was in defence, the middle and forward. Not bad for a man who was not on an AFL list until very late and playing in a much poorer league leading up to today

Very impressive start for us. Plays taller than he looks and as mentioned above his smarts in kicking to the hot spot was an example many of his colleagues should follow.

Assume kicking to the hot spot is just a long bomb that actually gets marked

No, it’s kicking to players leading to 20m out, showing composure, and not bomb kicking it to the goal line where it’s easily defended and a point is conceded. Football 101. Something that a couple of higher paid mids have been doing for three years.

Not quite Adonski it is an accurate kick that comes in a lot faster and prevents extra backs intercepting, IE a lot of our long bombs are like pie floaters coming in and easy to kill.

Also, he pulled his kicks on 45 degree angles, late, which is an art form that only few of our players master..’Melksham and Chin being a couple notable others. It’s clever and hard to defend. Lift the veil of negativity

pleasantly surprised, but he sits within the plodder with below average foot skills category for me. so him langdon viney clarry langford sparrow may work against west coast but against most sides that wont cut it.

delivery inside 50 is still a continual unsticking point for the red and blue, having said that Jai did about as much as he could today given the opposition, real test is the next 3 weeks, sink or swim

he was only credited with one goal assist - ROBBED

Watch him be sub, play the last 15 minutes or less, then dropped back to the magoos.

The Goody special I call it.

I call it wrong

Really happy for him. It could only have been better if it was at the 'G.

You don't play the Eagles every week, but there was definitely some good signs (and size) about him.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
