They're only involved due to animal cruelty that occurred back in September 25th 2021.

Unspeakably stupid wokeness. Time to say enough is enough. How about spending time and energy on something that really matters.ย

Like getting a proper job.

I think it's less to do with "woke" (whatever that really means) and more about attracting attention and publicity - and it seems like they've already succeeded with that objective.

The Western Designer Poodles has a ring to it

Golden Doodles?

ย

I just called my mate Peta and she denies this completely

Hard to know what is true?

PETA has a history of organising stunts like this to get publicity.ย  They always make outrageous, unrealistic claims/demands that inevitably evoke a knee-jerk reaction from the gullible and perpetually offended.ย ย

Don't take it seriously, just have a chuckle then ignore it and the whole thing will disappear very quickly.

Definitely agree this is over-the-top.

BUT, in saying that, my very limited experiences with true bulldogs is that they really do struggle to breathe and any sort of over stimulation and exercise seems like a real struggle for them. Not something Iโ€™ve thought about for a long time and Iโ€™m not a campaigner by any sense, just an opinion formed from someone who loves dogs.

I know they say bad publicity is better than no publicity but this just makes them look ridiculous and no one would ever donate to their BS cause

I can't remember when I last heard anyone use the word tbh. Then again I don't watch Sky, read The Australian or listen to 2GB.ย

Talk about a pathetic cry for relevance. If anyone wants a laugh at these d-heads, take a look at Penn & Teller's takedown of PETA in their show "Bullsh**".

As Primus said: they canโ€™t all be zingers.

Iโ€™ve got a bulldog and heโ€™s as fit as a fiddle. Walks up to 5km without any issue and high intensity exercise not a problem.ย

Their origins date back to the year 1210.ย

I understand where you are coming from though, French Bulldogs tend to struggle more-so than British or Australian.ย

PETA can get [censored] pushing this barrow.ย

They are actually right about BIB dogs - thereโ€™s a bigger convo to be had there. The way theyโ€™ve gone about it thoughโ€ฆ. Ticks the โ€œany publicity is goodโ€ฆโ€ axiom thoughย

I imagine Cats would be offended being associated with a bogan club.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
