Loved the big smile on Tracc.

That is not made up and he appears very invested.

That win was very important for the younger guys too, as it gives a sense of belief and they can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Wholeheartedly agree. The pure joy on Trac's face in that changeroom before the team song was so heart warming.

As put in post elsewhere. I think he's in the wrong role. Slide Goody sideways.. Get a better strategic coach. Win win

Reckon Goody would do extremely well as GM of football - that’s all about relationships.

How do you know Ardu wants to stay in Melbourne? Certainly great and helpful if true.

Because she's said so. She's established a fashion company in Melbourne, and wants to continue pursuing it in Melbourne.

This is very encouraging. If his wife wants to stay that has to be a huge factor in his decision.

Can also confirm I know as fact that she wants to remain in Melbourne.

One thing is a certainty, and that’s laughing at Freo for eternity.

The St Kilda of Perth.

I went to Freo once and can confirm fashion died there.

Not that this is the only reason, but let's not forget that leaving to go somewhere just because mates are there is silly.

If your friend jumped off a cliff would you?

Very encouraging if his partner wants to stay. That's usually the main motivation for wanting to head home. I firmly believed he was out the door last season and if Bolton hadn't gone to Freo then we would've traded him for all of their firsts.

Letting him spend a lot of extra time in WA is really good from the club tbh.

I found this article surprisingly moving. Far more substantive than the usual stage managed “I love the club and want to stay” unconvincing reassurances.

The description of Kozzie being both homesick and wanting to stay was illuminating. This complexity is usually ignored by the media in pursuit of a simplistic and dramatic narrative.

Kudus to the journalist, Kozzie, his dad and the club.

Thats a strange analogy.

That's cool, Kat! What is the name of the company?

About six months ago Ardu told me that her and Koz are not leaving Melbourne.

About two months ago Ardu told me that her and Koz are not leaving Melbourne.

Two weeks ago in Perth (before our match) Ardu and I were talking and Bellanie reached out and started playing with my shiny red and blue nails. Ardu said she’s getting to know me and that it’s cool that I’m getting to see Bellanie grow up.

Now, I certainly ain’t fixin’ on moving outta Melbz so I can only assume Ardu means I’ll see Bellanie grow up in Melbourne. 😁

Ardu’s sister who is also her best friend now lives in Melbourne “not even 10 minutes away.” She spends a lot of time with the little family.

Kozzie’s sister moved to Melbourne earlier this year. She too is super close to Ardu

It is starting to feel like what the club has been putting out on a few fronts is more genuine than in the past. It just may turn out that dropping those first 5 games, weathering the storm and negative focus has bought the group closer together rather than further apart. Adversity can swing both ways. The win against Brisbane must feel so good within the 4 walls. The fact the club got Koz’s Dad to do what must be one of our best indigenous guernsey’s (although I’ve generally been impressed with all of them) and we’ve gone away as a group for a big win must really solidify the group. Long may it continue and long may Kysaiah Klem Paul Kropinyeri-Pickett remain a Demon.

Ardu stated in her staff entry post at the Victorian Koorie Youth Council that she's lived in Melbourne for 10 years, that was in 2022, so she's spent more than half her life living in Melbourne. She may originally be from Darwin, but if she's spend much of her life here, she's a local :)

A GM of football is responsible for managing the football department budget, and for managing the performance of the football department staff (coaches, fitness staff, recruitment, etc).

Relationships are important for all roles, including the GM of football. But it isn't just about being a great bloke everyone loves.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
