He’s already taken more contested marks than little Nicky.

Reminds me of a young Jordan Lewis with his left peg.

Let's not forget that Lewis at his peak was an absolute gun midfielder for the Hawks.

Jordan Lewis had a kick at goal i have never seen anyone else do.

If he was lining up from the left side facing the goal he would hold it in a way he would kicking it with draw or right to left swing.

If he was on.the the right side facing goal he would hold it the opposite way and slice it and the ball would swing left to right.

I don't think the Bison will ever have that ball control he is more likely to just kick it straight through

I'd love to see teams try to put a bit more physical pressure on him. Nothing untoward just see how he would handle some tough bodywork.

Berry was giving him plenty & he was still the best player on the park

Not the player comparison I’d be making. He is v. good but predominately an outside player. Nothing wrong with that but if Collingwood lose the inside game Nick is not going to have an impact which is where Ablett Jnr and others like Bont can have.

At the risk of being positive about a pies player, Nick Daicosis not predominately an outside player. He is as every bit as good an inside mid as Bont or Ablett. Kid is tough AND skilled. He's already one of the best players ive seen - and he's only just begun his career.

Did you mean Nick Daicos Binny? I’m sure Nick Watson is not one of the best players you’ve seen.

Twinkle toes is a great little player but he most definitely does have flaws.

On numerous occasions he's taken short steps, which has been well publicized. That said, he seems to have largely eradicated that from his game.

The best mids I've ever seen have a physical intimidation and can go forward and take contested marks. Little Nicky hasn't taken a single contested mark in 76 games. An extraordinary achievement.

For example, I doubt anyone thinks contested marking is Jack Viney's prowess. Viney took 19 contested marks in his first 76 games. Daicos is 5cm taller.

Some players play taller than their stature, he plays smaller.

But he's super fast, has an incredible footy IQ, and sublime deft touch. A great little player.

Sheesh. Is the the Nick Dacos thread or the Harvey Langford thread? Less said about that filthy lot, the better. Gees imagine if we were approaching a Pies game and they had "what they're saying at Casey Fields" thread.

worst thing is the filth have another f/s coming thru - mcguane's kid - plus another nga selection

both would be first round picks in an open draft

Agree. Posters who can’t accept a player is gun because they play for another team ? lol

Please, that's the Demonland SOP.

Solid game last night but not as good as the week before. That said, I really don’t like the way Langford is trying to take one handers running with the flight of the ball. I count 3 times this has happened in the last 3 weeks.

If my memory serves me correct, I believe he took all 3, but yes not a habit I would encourage

He dropped one last night.

Yep, that was the footsteps one. It was from a cute but good kick from Kozzy. He needed to go and didn't. I was disappointed. Needs to get that out of his game.

Easy to say that from the comfort of the stand though.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
