The Dees played insipid, error riddled & uninspiring footy all night and in a lightning delayed match they eventually succumbed to Collingwood by 46 points at the MCG in the final game of the year. Thank God this season is finally over. Bring on 2025.

Unless drastic changes are made, 2025 will be more of the same I fear.

we're a poorly skilled outfit. absolutely have to address the skills deficiency on our list if we're to challenge again.

Cant wait to come back in 2025 with the same forward line disconnect. Let's draft more defenders. You know it's going to happen. Hasn't changed in 3 years. Oh well here is hoping for the better.

No Petracca, May, Lever, Oliver, Windsor, Sparrow. Who actually thought we’d win this game? Throw it in the bin and let’s go again next year.

Lame. Not the boost we wanted to instil some confidence in 2025 but I guess we’ll just have to do with reassurances in the offseason that we’ll fix everything that need fixing and go again next year.

Until then, it’s just a game…it’s just a game… it’s just a game… it’s just a game… it’s just a game… it’s just a game…

(I say as I rock myself to sleep after being belted by the pies, again).

And now people see it, signs were there in 23,23 and now 24 will now be interesting to see what the club does now.

There is one solution, but you may not like it.

I hope Adams and Jefferson have huge preseasons and can perform at AFL level. I’m optimistic about next year but we need a lot to go right. May and Gawn so important.

@Abyssal just a follow up from your game day reply to my post. Fritta kicked 41 goal this year with some massive hardship with our club,

Yep, it was not a good year from Fritta, but he still performs to a good level even when he was not at our best.

on a good year he is top quality.

For starters get JVR out of the ruck position and teach him to mark.

All talking about Melbourne's disappointing season and how well the pies finished the season and all the good signs. They are the reigning champs who didn't make the 8. WHAT THE HELL.

And who do the Pies play in the finals? Same team we do.

Disappointing to say the least. A lot to work on in the offseason.

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
