Sympathy, dan.

My drive from afar requires only slight deviations for me to have a choice from several lines.

Well mine doesn't.

That's what I was assuming and hence my sympathy. Used to hate it on the bay-hugging Sandy line - option only on one side, and distant.

Oh haha, yeah right. I live in the outer north, it was drive or bust and I wasn't driving.

It's not bad, easy to get to and seats are pretty good no matter where you are. I hate being indoors on a sunny day and nothing will beat the G but it's not bad as an alternative venue. I presume a large part of the hate from Melbourne supporters comes from the MCC members who don't have the same access or facilities at Docklands.

Agree

My problem is that too much of the stadium is reserved with no clear indication as to where GA seats are available. A simple app these days or a digital board would fix that.

When I enter the AFL members there's a board which tells me the unreserved areas that always includes half the reserve unless it's a very big game

Never understood the Marvel/Docklands hate. Pretty cosy stadium and when packed, the atmosphere is just as good as any stadium in the country. The last non Melbourne match I attended was in 2011 when Collingwood came back from 40 to beat Adelaide, and it is honestly one of the better atmospheres I have ever experienced as far as following this sport is concerned.

As for Docklands itself, when I lived at Docklands Drive before Covid, I had nothing but a good time. Costco, cycling friendly, short tram ride into the city, vibes were pretty good on Friday Nights when there was a game there and ain’t too busy, so easy to get around.

Like most things on social media these days, fake outrage seems to be the norm and everything needs to be torn apart with massive negativity taking over.

This is a good defense of the area, but I think you'll find the hate is very much genuine.

I prefer the G obviously, but accessibility wise, Marvel is way easier because you can park under the ground. Yes, it's $33 but way easier.

Have we extended Goodwin after his coaching masterclass on the weekend? 🤔🤮

Very accessible for country supporters landing at Southern Cross station.

I wonder if the board has given Cameron Bruce a call?

Long tenure as an assistant coach at Hawks and currently leading an all star midfield at Brisbane. The current board likes to recruit MFC alumni as well.

That's only a couple bucks more than parking at Crown on a Saturday.

Don't give them ideas. I'm sure they read this forum.

Back on the topic, i'll quadruple down on calls to sack him at seasons end. Reasons

1 He has continued to play favourites when totally out of form or just back from injury.

2 Game plan is terrible, no dare just chip sideways , backwards the use other side if the ground, every team has woken up to it.

3 The spin , on spin on spin is all there to see after every presser

4 His disgraceful handling of Laurie, Woewodin, Brown and most of all Jeffo recently was terrible. Perfect game to play jeffo vs West coast , but nup, plays Petty instead, on the back of a pathetic game vs Blues and dont let his 3 goals fool you, bloke is NOT a key forward.

HAS TO GO!

It shows how loyal our supporters are, I genuinely thought we'd struggle to get 10k there today considering our supporters disdain for the venue and the form of the team.

Nah, had other plans about 3hrs away from the docklands.

And 16k isn't great vs anyone.

had "plans". so much for being supportive and loyal then hey?

playing "away" and against an interstate team, id say anyone would be happy with that

Yes, had plans with my wife.

My whole existence does not revolve around this club, when I was younger and lived within an hour of the G it did, now a lot less so and I’m happy with that.

The day I care about some one on the forum having a snide remark about my support and loyalty is the day…. Well I’ll leave that bit unsaid eh.

Agree Petty was lucki last weekend and he is not a forward which has been evidenced by his output yet the coach persists season after season.

WC scored 8 goals and at times moved the ball without much pressure, this is the worst 18th team and they still had their moments against us.

Game plan, what game plan

Coach’s time is up imo.

Combined that WCE are an absolute basket case ( it was a nice win for a change), but they are the worst side I've seen in a very long time.

Agree to all but number 3, every coach are natural soon doctors with the gift of the gab. Unavoidable. They all have so much media training.

I was there with one of my kids doing halftime Auskick and scoring their first goal in a stadium.

Why was the roof closed on such a beautiful day?

Had a collingwood clown chipping me about our supporters not turning up to games.

Told him melbourne supporters tend to have more going on in their lives than going to watch a game to mindlessly chant "Collinggggwooood".

Quietened him down .

There is?? Shows me how much attention I pay 😂

Actually that's my one major hate for Docklands, the amount of empty seats on level 2 and they want to charge an arm and a leg to sit there. It's ridiculous, AFL members should have some walkup access to level 2 especially now the AFL owns the stadium.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
