The first half was diabolical with 1 mark from 28 forward 50 entries

And just to rub it in Oliver & Petracca totally waste 2 more forward 50 entries late in the game with panic disposals

We had a real opportunity to win the game today but we handed the game to the Pies by not taking advantage of our opportunities to score (specifically our forward 50 entries)

That's on top of being largely wasteful against the Hawks & Saints ... use the ball properly and/or kick straight and we could have won our last 8 games

Players are developing great under Goody. There is always going to be a few who don’t crack it but the amount of talent in the team that has gotten better over the years says it all. Bowey, Turner and Chandler are great examples atm.

I don’t care what anyone says. Coaches have a huge say when it comes to to player recruitment and drafting anyone that thinks otherwise is delusional.

Melbourne have officially wasted the Best midfield we’ve had since the golden era of the 50s and 60s.

Because we’re too pig headed to recruit and or draft genuine forwards. There’s a reason our Fwd Line is [censored]. Because hardly any of them are natural forwards. Fristch is the only one & he has the composure & intensity of a local footballer.

Buckle in for the next 5-10 to watch other clubs with a brain utilise their asset's by supporting them, with a quality structure around them.

I've been critical of Goodwin, but he did plenty right yesterday to give us a chance of winning that game. Ultimately we weren't good enough to do so.

I will say that I think his management of our younger players has been really poor. Lindsay clearly needs a rest (probably should have been the St Kilda game), and arguably Langford as well. Windsor is horribly underdone and out of sorts, and needs a spell at Casey. Tholstrup has been played underdone, deservedly sent to Casey and then brought back without much justification. We've had Sharp and Jefferson sit out this week as emergencies for no reason, when getting game time was more important.

I need to correct myself and adjust the W/L to 3-9 in 6 point margins or less from round 16 2023 to today.

I forgot to include the Brisbane 1 point win in round 18 2023.

I think it's more clear than ever that a new coach is needed with this team. When you see the list and talent and they way they can play and then lose games constantly over 3 years because we have no ideas going forward, you realise what could've been

We won a premiership by 74pts and ended up on top of the ladder, so no doubt players had career best years, this shouldn’t be the marker of a players upward directory. All the kids that played in that side are all better players now -Kosi, JV, Bowey, Rivers and Sparrow.

People who are happy with Kozzie's deal will need to accept that Goodwin is here for the duration.

Goodwin should be sacked NOW no ifs or butts and the ENTIRE football department needs to also be under fierce scrutiny! we are now in our rightful position as a bottom 4 side. Our fall from grace since 2021 is a CATASTROPHIC EVENT!

It is unfortunately hard to argue against. We have ingrained habits, that for years, couldn’t be coached out. I’d be keen to see coach and coaching staff sacked. I’d be keen to see 2 of our highest paid mids and an overpaid backman traded.

We still have some talent, but it will be lost to poor development and poor system

Whilst I don’t think it will happen you simply can’t employ a coach who has this list bottom 4-6 2 years running. It’s simply not acceptable

There's no way he's going. The interesting thing is how the bloke who puts so much store in his relationship with players deals with the list at the end of the year.

He talked in the press conference about having changed a lot recently. He was talking about the way we play. But what the club hasn't changed a lot is the list. We've traded up in the draft really effectively, and brought in some good young players, but we haven't made big shifts. We've managed the list like we think it's capable of playing in prelims. Surely we have to disabuse ourselves of that notion now.

But...

...it also seems like the draft is one you wouldn't want to trade into. It's not a draft where you can confidently rub your hands together with a pick in the teens. So what will he do? (I know he's not responsible for the list, but he would have a huge say in whether we say goodbye to big names.)

It seems several of the players that have made his tenure successful are now incapable of playing in the same team and giving us a chance to be consistently hard to beat. Some of them still have years and years left on their contracts. Will he continue to attempt a miracle in teaching his old dogs new tricks?

I've wanted him gone since the Gold Coast game but after realising the cost if the club sacked him would be enormous.

This club is due for a fresh and new voice.

It appears the club is steadfast on continuing with Simon, I do believe it is time for Mr Nice Guy Goodwin to put the blowtorch on some of the over paid senior players, he calls friends, at years end, there needs to be some list changes to help him:

Players to be offered up for trade:

• pole position- J.Lever (injury prone and so out of form)

• C.Oliver (just get what you can and get him off the books)

• C.Salam

• B.Fritsch (I don’t think a single team mate would miss his selfishness)

• C.Spargo

Coaches changes:

• employ a senior assistant to help from the box if he stays on the ground

• A strategy coach to teach forward defense and teach our forwards to lead back to the ball for easy marks

• A strategy coach for ball movement into the F50

• Choco messaging early has been lost for the past 4/5 years, a fresh voice is required

• Bring in an experienced director of football to challenge Simon and the assistants, Richo hasn’t done enough over the past 4 years

I had to turn the TV off after 1/2 time, were so unenjoyable to watch, we miss easy kicks, fumble and continue to kick behinds
