I have been wondering for weeks what it would take to entice Zane Duursma out of North. Is reportedly disgruntled with the club, as he is held back in the pecking order. Is a forward who can kick goals and can spend time in the midfield. He played 2 games for Casey in his draft year and still has vast amounts of potential to be a star.

Worth a look but he was patchy in his draft year including a couple of ordinary VFL games for Casey (his brother put in much better Casey efforts). And Clarkoโ€™s moving him around trying to make something out of him.

Agreed. Would take a punt at a low cost if North just wanted to move him on, but wouldn't go hard. 3rd round or token pick. Could become a nifty goal scorer, but he's similar to Fritsch. Should never be allowed midfield as he's too soft.

I was staggered he went so high in his draft. Pick 4 was massive overs, and it's laughable he went ahead of Windsor, Curtin, Caddy, O'Sullivan, Sanders basically all directly after him. Clear bust of that top 10 and could see it a mile off.

Only if he was a delisted free agent. Has the Darcy Parish and Jack Billings vibes as top picks that lack the physical side of AFL FOOTY

Dual premiership Kangaroo David King, in particular, remains flabbergasted as to why Melbourne has apportioned such a large percentage of their salary cap to defenders May and Lever when other clubs โ€“ and even other teams in other sports โ€“ would usually pay big bucks for stars that impact the scoreboard.

โ€œIf youโ€™re going to spend the bulk of your salary cap behind centre โ€“ so in the back-half โ€“ no other team does that in their competition and no other team in any code does that around the world,โ€ King told Fox Footyโ€™s The First Crack. โ€œYou spend money on strikers, guys that can hit the scoreboard, full-forwards, centre half-forwards or gun midfielders.

โ€œTheyโ€™ve gone May and Lever as part of their big spend, who are very good players, but what influence can they really have on winning games of football?โ€

Kiddy Coleman is made of glass, cannot get fit. Same as Treloar. McIntosh is the sub most games at richmond at shouldn't be near a best 22 next year.

made of glass is hardly fair, he did an acl and has had some pain and setbacks related to getting strength and speed back in his legs as a result which seems entirely fair and after another preseason he will be right to go and will tear the joint apart again

if we wanna look at the lions take pre-agent zac bailey, we need that hard working half forward who also kicks goals and can work up the ground, hes your guy, get him and mcreery and its a different discussion i50

The irony of a premiership defender saying that about two soon-to-be premiership heroes isnโ€™t lost on me.

My favourite King-ism nowadays is when he visits one pre-season training session per team (Victoria only) and then parades around like a professional track-watcher at Flemington

That article is amazing, they just talk absolute rubbish don't they most of the time, the very definition of "shoot your mouth off" is those guys on their shows.

I guess that's their job though...talking stuff to keep people entertained, no need for it to be any good most of the time.

Puts all the pundit comments into proper perspective though reading that.

Itโ€™s one afl player per side going to Tassie, in fact if GWS and GC are a guide theyโ€™ll probably sign about 10 legit afl players at most and few delisting, semi retired guys.

That wonโ€™t impact the value of list cloggers. If anything now is the time to take on a bunch of fresh kids so we arenโ€™t reliant on draft picks when the list concessions bump them all out

How to you figure that? That. They need 44 for a normal AFL list. And they will get extras as well so min 50. You take 50 players out of the draft and what are you picking up? Yes they will get players from other clubs as well, but that them means you lose more depth and going to the draft sets you back in development

Why do St Kilda want TDK so badly?

He has been average all year

He is apparently unhappy at North and is obviously not performing to his best.

If we could get him at reasonable cost, that would be good.

North wanted Lever to be the general down back. I would do that swap today.

on insane money

The Saints better players will not be happy with the disparity in pay with 2 players taking up 35% of the cap

Could get Windhager on the cheap

You have to wonder how much his poor form is as a result of Northโ€™s development of him vs him just being a poor player relative to his draft position

Why North didnโ€™t take Watson or Curtin with that pick Iโ€™ll never know

Obviously the North recruiter and most of the experts thought he would be a better player.

Players can improve at a new club.

As an example, look at Jack Martin at Geelong, he is killing it. Oscar Baker is another. Jordan Clark another. etc, etc.

I liked him in his draft year. He finished his year really strong kicking 4 goals in the championship decider at Marvel. Looked at that stage as he was going to be a star.

I only watched him once this year and he looked miles off it. No intensity or second efforts.

none of those players are playing better at there current clubs than there previous

Never thought I'd say it:

  • Try to get a 2nd for May. Disco is the future

  • Any first we can get for Trac. Clarry more likely to return to the player he was than Trac

  • Don't mind either way with Lever. Petty or JvR is fine

  • Sparrow to Port for chips

Are you serious?

Clark is a star at Dockers couldnโ€™t get a regular game at Cats.

Baker hardly played for us.

Martin is playing far better than at Blues.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
