Oliver is one player who is having a red hot go and winning plenty of the ball! Playing his best game for weeks! What game are u watching??

Are you his dad? It's the only thing that can explain your sycophancy. He could take a dump on the ball and you wouldn't criticise him.

I don't blame Goody for ten players not laying a single tackle for a half.

Just weak and heartless.

Whose job is it to drive the standard?

I think you're right RTG

Goodwin has coached every laat drop of run, dare, creativity and skills out of this group.

The game plan is SO strict and boring that as you say, they are now (mostly) just purely reactive and sit back hoping not to make mistakes or look bad.

Either that or something's gone down off the field that we are yet to hear about.

They over handball far too often and have no method in transition.

It's just a conplete horror show, even against shizen oppo like the Eagles.

Sparrow,  River's etc just [censored] their dacks when under pressure they cannot think it through.

Goodwin will see out his contract IMO and until then we'll be a solidly mediocre team, and then it will be up to whoever takes over to rebuild the list.

Collingwood have scored 6.0 from turnover, we've scored 2.5 from turnover. That's the game right there.

Season over IMO.

But the fall within the space of 3-4 weeks is breathtaking.

Score from turnover is just a phrase without the pressure.

And would it kill us to not turn it over it bad areas all the time. Those two kick attempts from Fritsch in the first quarter looked lazy as anything and the moment Collingwood slingshotted it was done.

Half time

Goodwin 😡😡😡actually

Goodwin 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Elliot

De Goey

Mitchell

Mihocek

Pendlebury

Cox.

injury hit Pies up 45-18

1. Overhandballing AGAIN into pressure.  Are you all stupid!!! 79 handballs. Really.
2. forwards instruction clearly now there to be seen. Haphazard at best.
insude 50s Dees 23-21
3. missed tackles.  Weak ! Yes weak

4. Turnovers. Skills are so bad.  So bad

@poita Well said. “our game plan is to build the stats with short kicks backwards and sideways, followed by the inevitable error that results in chain of useless handpasses and finally a blind handpass on to the chest of an opponent. By this time our defenders are 50 metres off their opponents and completely out of position”.

We have too many players with too few skills by hand and foot.

All comes down to this, everything else is just blah blah blah.

Turnovers cost matches.

To motivate his players, he is staying on the bench the whole game, meaning he is not doing the tactical stuff upstairs but rather his primary job is to motivate the group. Clearly he doesn't achieve anything.

18 POINTS IN A HALF!?

Who is this team? How have we fallen so far? Starting to think the eagles loss was not an anomaly but rather a sign of things to come. The Roos will be salivating. Why not? We can’t score, our skills are poor and the boys are clearly playing with no confidence.

Unless there’s a miracle in this second half where these guys remember they can play, I dunno where our wins will come from.

Keeping the faith, but geez it’s another tough one today. Was expecting a strong response against a depleted team and instead it’s been pretty tepid.

The only thing we can hold onto is Collingwood is not fit, hawthorn come back from 36 and should have won, but Freo don't score and look at what they did.

Can we sack him? Honest questions, can't take  2 more years of this, nor should our star players and young guns like Windsor and JVR.

The only good thing about being this bad is that we don’t have to suffer a third consecutive straight sets exit to finals…

Kruger hasn't played in 3 years but looks like Carey out there.

I hope the media go extra hard on us this week.

We see falling backwards badly

Whose job is it to execute the standard?

All on the players.

In 3 years we've gone from an attacking, fast team with great disposal to a slow, stop and prop team focused upon defence and reaction

Goodwin is responsible for this game plan.

Laurie and Chandler are second rate and Turner and Howes are not ready. More holes in our list than Swiss cheese

I don't think the powers that be have the minerals to sack a premiership coach.

More like completely busted I'm afraid.

Talk about enough is enough.

I'm sick of the clubs talking.

Is it all a membership drive?

Stop insulting us all telling us what's not acceptable.

We know it isn't....do you guys?

Chandler is very overrated.

He is just a confidence player, once he goes down a spiral of negative games he can't get out of it.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
