Goodwin has overseen the collapse of this club. OMG the skills turnovers.

Going no where fast, optimistic to think we can even bounce back anytime soon, it’s going to be a long rebuild hope the good times of 2021 is enough to sustain everyone

What's the opinion of those that felt it was unwarranted to criticise Goodwin? Premiership coach or not he is very accountable for all the bad this year and even 2023.

Tracc can’t move, and those bloody ferals cheer!

Truly lowest of the lows.

I wish we didn't talk ourselves up before the game.

Now it's embarrassing.

And why hasn't anyone even touched Maynard.

That fact alone sums this team up.

Your mate has been sent into early retirement and Maynard doesn't have a scratch on him.

I'm sorry but we lack heart.

This is not the same club of the last few years.

Move Tmac fwd.

Kozzie One disposal for that quarter.

Langdon four for the day.

JV eight.

Fritta what's going on?

When Oliver gets the ball he thinks he should just boot it anywhere. How about finding a target.

Another strong game from Max.

Feel sorry for him.

Don't blame the backs. I's our normal turnover merchants doing the damage. You would think there is a jumper clash seeing most times we get the ball we kick or handball to a black and white jumper. Clarry needs to look, look and look instead of dump kicks.

To finish off we again have no forwards. Fritta missing other than 2 turnovers early and I have no idea why Turner and Chandler are playing. The odd times they get the pill it's also given back.

This is not a good look and if the Pies had their full team like us (except Lever) we would be 15 goals down by now. Long back end of season coming up guys unless a miracle happens in the 2nd half.

Goodwin & the coaches have managed to destroy this midfield and the rest of the team , his pig headed approach of trying to turn defenders into fwds , had a midfield once feared to zero, JVR only decent fwd will seek a request for a trade …

They are so shiiite scared of turning the ball over and getting caught that they just panic the ball off any which way.

A team completely devoid of confidence, skills, run and high pressure.

It's actually been a lot longer than that DD. We won the Premiership because (not only) we played with a great deal of dare. Each season since has seen less and less dare and wanting to adhere to a strict game plan. Consequently, we're always, always, always reactive rather than pro-active.

Lost to West Coast, smashed by Freo, losing soundly to Collingwoods twos. Fans actually think we are a finals side. Not even close. Finals list, but coach has lost the players. Anyone who knows the game saw it weeks ago. I’d be interested to see what this list could do even this year, with a new coach.

18 POINTS IN A HALF!?

Who is this team? How have we fallen so far? Starting to think the eagles loss was not an anomaly but rather a sign of things to come. The Roos will be salivating. Why not? We can’t score, our skills are poor and the boys are clearly playing with no confidence.

Unless there’s a miracle in this second half where these guys remember they can play, I dunno where our wins will come from.

Keeping the faith, but geez it’s another tough one today. Was expecting a strong response against a depleted team and instead it’s been pretty tepid.

It's like barracking for a sloth against a turtle right now. We've got nothing more to give.

Even up until a few minutes left I'd have been pleased as long as we didn't concede but we went and let 3 big ones sail through. Splitting our hearts in the process.

Errors in critical areas of the ground, stupid defensive mistakes, midfielders that can't kick anymore.

The one positive is ANB is keeping Daicos quiet, however it is robbing us of the high HFF role he offers.

11sec, couldn't hold on.

With 45sec to go, twice kicking out of defence couldn't get either a mark or stoppage.

I don't mind Goodwin as a person, I think he has a high EQ and don't buy any of the culture stuff but he has to go. He's derelict in his coaching duties.

Diabolical gameplan and bog average list which has become way out of balance. Totally inept forward of centre.

Contested ball and territory is all he has. Nothing about transition, conection, team rules, forward system.

When our players get the footy they have to think about what they're going to do with it. When the Pies players get it they already know and are gone.

Pathetic. Filth just want it more. Should be enough motivation from last year and last week to outwork these 💩heads! Keep turning over in their forward 50, kicking to 1v1 on wings or straight to an opponent. Oliver should just try win the ball and distribute by hand, killing us by foot. Gawn, McDonald, Roo, and maybe Rivers having a crack, everyone needs a kick or 2 up their butts and lift, infuriating to watch this team ATM. Lift!!!

Where are the coaches? Petracca decides if he plays injured?

Horrific leadership off the field.

Of course he does, initially. He and the drs do the fitness test, if he says he's right to go they'll put him back on.

Apparently he’s a good bloke who the players love or some such garbage.

Ever since I read his text messages to Stephen Dank I’ve had him figured out. Takes a lot of other people considerable time to figure it out apparently.

Collingwood have scored 6.0 from turnover, we've scored 2.5 from turnover. That's the game right there.

Season over IMO.

But the fall within the space of 3-4 weeks is breathtaking.

This has been a slow burn, this year. But when we were totally outplayed by a Brisbane side, who had been awful, i knew that Simon was done.
he needs a change

We need a change

We had Yze coaching the midfield when he had no experience, we have Stafford coaching the forward line. And we have a drop kick coaching the side.

It's over. We look like sisyphus. Rolling the stone up the hill. This club is uncompetitive at the moment. Its time for big change. The collective effort is there but pathetic efforts from guys like Bowey at the end there and McVee on Schultz epitomise that the standards being set are non-existent and it is killing the young players.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute.
