Supporter forums are pretty self-explanatory. And the club would obviously educate young players around the risks involved of reading sites like these, reading too much social media commentary or media in general.

For your own mental well being, maybe I could advise that you continue to provide the training reports/player updates and then (like you have advised those young players), not read/respond to certain topics that tick you off so much?

I think that would help you and many of us.

Ima go ahead and do as I please on here. But thanks all the same for the suggestion. By the way, do you offer the same suggestion to every poster who replies to topics that tick them off? Coz that’d be fair, right?

Hashtag not changing for anyone, least of all anyone on this site.

Bit hard to judge his performance considering Casey won by over 100 points, but he looks a good prospect based on these highlights.

If he doesn't get a game this season, he's definitely one to watch in '26

Why not? Getting in the mood for mad Monday and beyond.

The thing is TC there is still a chance that Casey could play finals footy and our youngsters should play an important role in getting us there. To my mind making something of Casey’s chances is more important than playing a AFL game. Finals experience appeared out of our reach 3-4 weeks ago but now it is a distinct possibility.

I have re-read my message and it is a little ambiguous and i cannot edit it.

Just to be 10000000% clear

i'd be relucant to - play kids against Collingwood when we can damage their season

NOT id be reluctant to negatively impact Collingwood's season.

Id be all for bringing in Rod Grinter, Byron Pickett, Danny Hughes,Jamie Duursma Crackers Keenan and Big Carl and special guest The Undertaker to play and inflict major collateral damage to Maynard, Faicos, Demi Moore, Shultz, Howe, and anyone else!

I like Luke’s development this year after struggling last year being a mid season recruit. Given his serious medical issues his form at Casey has been impressive. He is a watch for 2026.

I’m a bit confused by the MFC boundary riders commentary on this post. Weeks ago he lacked confidence and didn't believe in his ability at AFL, to now having belief. It feels a little like click bait (attention) posting. 🙄🥴

no doubt, but he's a limited footballer and im not sure what his role is in the seniors as not a key tall and behind fritsch and melky as a third tall. he has limited skills and is suited to lower skilled football where bash and crash becomes more prevalent and gets found out and lost a bit when the game moves quickly. a good possibly great vfl footballer but i havent seen anything from his chances at afl level to date, or most vfl games (he was playing on an irishman v carlton) to justify his selection at the point in the season over younger prospects with higher ceiling

This is what has me torn in terms of Luker debuting. Of course I’d be stoked for him and I know he’d be absolutely rapt because he says he’s ready and the club medics have told him he’s fitter and stronger than he was pre-illness. Even without hearing it from them he knows this himself. BUT…

Should he have a poor game I can only imagine the nasty and degrading comments, not only on here but in general from Dees fans. People don’t realise the damage this can do to a 19yo and yes, he reads Demonland.

Filthy* has made amazing progress given that he has yet to do a full preseason.

Like others I am ambivalent about him debuting this year. It would be a great achievement but I would be concerned were he to be told that there were low expectations. Every player every game must go in with high expectations.

Would he gain more if he helped Casey into finals and even share in some finals victories?

*as in filthy luker

PS I am a true believer

Wholeheartedly agree DZ, there’s a pool of talented youngsters performing admirably at Casey. Coach Taylor Whitford has melded youth with some experienced older heads. VFL finals participation would be a great finale for the club.

Weeks ago he'd hardly been on the park. Since then he's had some decent games in defence, taken a few hangers and kicked a couple of bags of 4.

I'd have thought that would give his self belief a bit of a kick along

Possibly GTB. We will never know where Kent is at. That would be for those close to him and those within the football club.

He has been impressive to watch given his struggles.

The quiet Jim Durnan was lethal and how could you leave out Ray Biffin and Cameron Clayton.

While were at it might as well give the Texas Rattlesnake a tingle also for R24.😂

Boyd found out to his detriment that Kentfield doesn't take any rubbish.

Took him a while to get up off the deck.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
