Not just that, who's playing the 1.5 intercept role of Lever?  Neither Tommo or T- Mac are really up to that.

May could do it and TMac and Tomlinson take the direct tall opponents.

The midfield has to step up to cover the loss of Lever.
keep the ball forward.
They honestly haven’t performed efficiently all year so far

Just one comment. JV7 is a midfield bull. His tackling is A grade. Elite tackle rating this year 7.  Rated 6th total tackles for the AFL.
Oliver down from 7 to 4 this year.
Trac at 3 tackles per game.

We are losing contested centre clearances. This is killing us. Combine this with turnovers and we are naturally looking like an average team.

Goodwin reckons it will be an arm wrestle this week.  Both teams will be super desperate.  WHO stands up for us?

News flash… if we lose it’s Armageddon!!! Goodbye top 4. We need to win.  We NEED to win.

Mids have been [censored].

Don't start until half time most games.

Big names relying on reputation.

I would think:

IN Langdon, JVR, Tomlinson

OUT Billings, Brown, Lever

Pity to drop Billings against his old club. They might drop Woey but would be harsh

Question for the MFCSS types - have you been confident about a single game since Round 1, 2021? We'll win this and next week and be 8-4 going into KB. Have to say I'd be very tired being pessimistic all the time.

I just want to see something rather than nothing...this whole "trust the system" line is tired and guess what, it didn't work!  Please think on your feet and do something different because the results are saying we need to do something different, even if just to get the players a bit more excited about life and footy, they just all look flat and tired...like this "system" perhaps.

Mix it up coaches!!!

But Goody has allegedly delivered over the past 6 years so with  the current challenges can he do it some more

He is defence first coach and cannot change as the cattle are not right. It  worked for a while but will always be tested by the offensive style of teams like Sydney and CW.

Not much to excite in the two potentials of Tomlinson and Fullarton. Both have been average at best at Casey level.

FWIW I'd have Fullarton in and swing Petty down back.

Very surprised that Hunter is named as a possibility. His game last week for Casey was woeful and I rarely criticise players to this extent. He really didn't look interested.

That means two spots and one sub left between Howes, Billings, Woewodin and Sparrow. Can't see Sparrow missing and probably not Howes so one of Billings or Woewodin is left as sub with the other missing out.

This game should be a regulation win but... who knows

According to current orthodoxy that doesn’t matter

70% of scoring is from turnovers

so a dump kick clearance gets easily converted into a forward entry

I’m uncomfortable with giving up on clearances but can’t fault the logic

I guess it depends on the quality of the clearance

Im not sure why the FD would name Fullo.  Unless there's a last minute out like Petty or JVR he won't be playing.

Last week was the perfect set up to bring him in and all he got was an emergency and no game time since the Match against the Blues which seems like an eternity now.

He should play for Casey this week at least but barring more injury to KFs i can't see him getting a game this season now unless he had two or three outstanding games, kicked about 9 to 10 goals and had a big ruck chop out game/s on top.

Agree on Hunter's games so far at Casey.  Not inspiring at all and doesn't look to have built a tank yet for VFL level let alone AFL.

Can't believe we're looking to bring back another player from injury too early who is miles off being up to playing at the level.

He would also make our slow transition game of late, slower.  Which is saying something.

We were cooked come finals in 2022.

I actually think they were in good shape condition wise last year, but were cruelled by injury.

This 150%. Our last two seasons in a nutshell - also underscores how you need luck on your side to win a premiership.

Luck has always been a massive factor, and maybe I'm imagining it, but it seems to be an even bigger factor these days.

From Saints board, made me laugh. (Btw we have a fair number of guests (lurkers) on-line… Hello there (-;

Demons board is already throwing Billings onto the “never again” pile lol

She could probably hold it mid-september and not only ensure Ed was in attendance, but increase the likelihood of some warmer weather on the day.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
