What do you do following a loss?

I practice gratitude. Think of all the luck I've had in life. puts things in perspective.

And i avoid the media after a loss (when we win i lap it all up). no point rerunning or ruminating on something that can't be changed

I think the losses of the past hurt more because there was an element of 'Are we ever going to win a flag in my lifetime?' attached to each loss. Some false dawns didn't help that feeling.  

Now we're  solid and having competitive losses which are a little different to dissect for a few reasons - You can find yourself falling down 'what if?' rabbit holes but also the finals ramifications etc.  As @seventyfour eluded to with the Perth GF, the mood somewhat shifting with the  'am i ever going to get to go to a winning grand final in my lifetime' paranoia slowly kicking in in with the passing of time . Could be worse though -  I have mates who go for St Kilda!

I'm also a bachelor roy but unlike you have no cat for company. If last night were a Friday I'd be getting out on the bike early doors and punching out 40-50km or going for a swim. The combination of coffee, physical exhaustion and endorphin release are my best friends after a crushing loss. Only then might I venture onto DL to make sense of what happened which I also find cathartic.

I stew for about 24hrs. 

Then look to the next game with optimism until Goody makes changes to the lineup which I rarely agree with, but he makes me look stupid most of the time, thank heavens.

I was never a player or coach so I've done Aussie rules a huge favour.

It has changed over time according to coach, mostly.

That was hard loss to swallow because I felt like we lost it three times.

And we just missed out by a point.

Ps Blues fans are shockers with their booing and free kick entitlement.

I wonder if the free differential is a result of big crowds swaying the umpires like the dobs we saw.

It depends entirely on the day of the week that the loss occurs. The earlier it is, especially if it's a Thursday night, the more I curse the AFL. 

Mind you, I detest Thursday night football (other than ANZAC Day eve or on any Thursday before a public holiday - which means the Thursday before Good Friday), so I'm already angry with the AFL anyway, whether we win or lose.
